Not sure if been mentioned but Napolean's advise was to stay away from fridges with 2 letters in their name. So GE n LG. Frigidaire was what he gave a soft recommendation for if buying for the masses.

Don't buy a fridge from any company with two letters in it's name.

I should have read the thread first.
I hate the LG linear compressor. Quiet? Yes....highest fail rate of ANY compressor? Yes.

KitchenAid is Whirlpools Cadillac.
JennAir would be their Buick.
Maytag their GMC.

An appliance repair guy had to come fix something on our Frideaire and he said a GE Side by side is the best fridge you can if you want to keep it for 20 years.
You can keep anything 20 years if you are willing to put money into it. GE I mean Haier does NOT put out a good product.

We bought a LG 30 cuft back around 8 years ago. Our first LG product. Not extremely happy with it. The freezer has frozen up a few times and we lost everything
in there. Also, the ice maker/hopper is a very bad design. If you dont use the ice over a 1-2 day period, it will freeze up and not dispense when you need it. You will have to pull out the bin and dislodge the ice. Plus, the bin is tiny
Probably would not get another LG fridge in the future..

My whirlpool has had ton's of problems with the "computer boards". It is a diff model than that. Relative has that model or very similar, 1 year old with at least 3 repair trips so far for lights, ice maker and computer board. Ughhh.

Literally just bought the LG. Not yet installed, but we're pumped.
My FIL has one of those and his has been great.
There are some models that have a fast drink chiller.

Usually gonna get what you pay for.
I'd go with Kitchenaid. For me, Whirlpools have just gotten too plasticky (new word?) and not as user friendly. Their ice makers are usually huge and take up too much room.
Most consistent complaint with LG and Samsung is the post sale service. It's like back in the day when most mechanics only worked on Fords and Chevy. Doesn't mean there weren't some that worked on Toyota's, just not as many. If you're in a major metropolitan area, service is no issue. In a rural area...I would not go that route. You may have to take your fridge to them instead of them coming to you.
GE had been trying to sell their appliance wing for what seems like forever. Since they knew they were dumping it, they stopped investing in R&D and keeping up with the latest. And now they're owned by a company known for putting cheap stuff out there.
Whoever was talking about Goedeker's...stay away. They are literally 2 miles down the road and are best known (by their own commercials) for there dinged and dented models. Unless you want dinged or dented. Otherwise, if price is a concern, most places will match prices. At least your box stores like Home Depot and Lowes.

Really thinking about ordering from them. Thanks for pointing it out I’d never heard of that website. Their prices for the model we want are cheaper than anywhere else.....and that’s before you even consider the no tax part.
How was your experience? (Time? Delivery?)
Customer service was great. Call and order it vs. online. They’ll knock another $50-100 or so off your order most likely.
I’ve ordered twice from them. One was in stock and took about a week to get from MO to LA. The other order wasn’t in stock so it took maybe 8-10 days.

I have that whirlpool and love it. It is kind of annoying you can't open the fridge while getting ice/water.
Other than that it's great.

Has Napoleon ever weighed in on Samsung?
Moving into a new place and have a chance to get a good deal on one combining a sale and a coupon at Home Depot

the brands available in the deal are LG, GE, Frigidaire, and Samsung. Seems like everyone shat on GE and LG. Not sure on Frigidaire

If you are in Mobile find a store that will service your products and buy from them. In BR I buy everything from Appliance Distributors because they have a great service department. Sooner or later you will need them and you won’t get that from Lowe’s.

My LG ice maker doesn't drop all of the ice each time so when it fills back up half of the water runs down the side of the freezer. I've removed it cleaned it, sprayed the ice tray with non stick spray, same issue a month later.
Half of the shelves cracked, the gasket started coming off of the freezer door after a few months. This is a 4-5 yr old fridge.

I have a new Whirlpool refrigerator being delivered today. It’s French door only because you can’t find a large enough top freezer anymore. It’s replacing a GE profile which has been crap since we bought it about 8 years ago. Damn thing always had serious ice buildup in the freezer, to the point we would have to periodically chip it out and use a hairdryer to melt the ice in the fan and light.
I have no need for water and ice through the door. Just something else to break. Whirlpool also makes Maytag and other brands which are considered reliable. For some reason, Consumer Reports prefers LG, but I’ve heard no end of complaints about compressors going out.
My GE lost its control board after about 18 months (and it was freezing up then too). Used to have a crappy GE clothes washer which shook itself to death trying to clean clothes without using water. Consumer Reports liked that model. Will never buy GE again.
I wish they would just go back to making simple, reliable appliances again. I don’t need my ice box to be able to call a damn Uber. Yes, I have a Speed Queen washer.
