I'm beginning to doubt you've ever been in there now. This is absurd.

Equipment is old as frick.
Some of it is, some of it is brand new. What difference does it make how old a set of dumbbells is?
The one legitimate gripe brought up in this thread is the crowds, but if you avoid the 4-6 pm rush it's not bad at all. There is so much equipment you can do whatever you want, or at worst ask someone to work in. Speaking of that, I have no idea where this perception of Reds being full of douches comes from. I've always been responded to positively when asking to work in or for a spot. Every single person I've interacted with has been friendly and helpful. I'm sure there are some dicks there, but I haven't met them.

would you consider in front of your garage your yard?

Arch your back. When you fail, straighten your back and slide the barbell forward on the rack.

The website looks really nice. Basketball courts? Olympic size swimming pools?

I've lived many places, all large cities and I've yet to come across a gym that begins to rival the quality and affordability of Reds. Nice troll, though.

can someone tell me where the high ceiling gym is in this pic? bc the gym next to the locker room had about 10 foot ceilings and then i almost banged my head on a drop while walking to the water fountain.
the equipment in that area is crowded as frick.
im sure most people on here like it bc they have those convex mirrors lining every wall that make you look bigger than you really are.

It's the only place in town with indoor courts. They come in handy in the summer when it rains every other day.
Red's has the most courts.
City Club has the nicest courts.
Oakbourne is the most accommodating.

Well, if you looked around, saw the meat heads and decided you were in the right spot, you probably were.

Red Lerille disapproves this thread.

I workout upstairs and in the Olympic lifting room.

Red himself is one of the classiest people I know, especially for a multi millionaire. I have seen him mopping floors, cleaning tables if he walks past an area in need. Too, he, from the beginning, has always put his money back into the club, going out to Calif several times a yr to find out what is new out there. He then brings it to La. yrs ahead of the rest of the gym world around here. And he has always kept the gyms cold, as he knows a cold gym keeps the odors down & improves the over all hygiene in the gym. Pure class all away around.

The gym looks like a lot of fun. How much is a membership?
Posted on 12/29/15 at 2:13 pm to yellowfin
quote:At all. The base membership is something like $50/month.
It's not expensive
And many of the the "old" machines are Red's own inventions, which have nostalgic value to a lot of locals. There is no exercise you can't do there.

I think with tax and everything it comes to $62 a month for an individual
