You forgot no monthly fees. Who pays to do something that's free?

I live outside of Louisiana, but my in laws are from Lafayette. Whenever we visit for the holidays, I work out Reds. I think it is a great place to lift and do cross-training. It has a pretty vast array of equipment and several specialized exercise areas. I also like that I can get protein shakes on site. JMO.

You're crazy. Reds has it all. You must have worked out in the kids section.

When I was in Lafayette after Katrina red gave me and a few other evacuee baws complimenatry membership. I don't have a single negative thing to say about the place, loved working out there.

It's a nice facility with a lot of history, but it's definitely over-hyped.

Been going to red's off and on since the 80's when it was a status symbol to be a member. It is not the most posh place but not many places offer what red's does... from 4 pools to multiple weight rooms, to a margarita machine in the bar for 100 bucks a month. He builds/rebuilds something almost every year.
What other options are here? City Club?

Tiger ryno a garage gym would work for you. Its called a power cage and allows you to go til failure and it is the center peice of every good garage gym.
