Red Light Camera Tickets and Driver's License Renewal

Got into an argument with a co-worker when I told him I'm not paying a ticket on a red light camera. He challenged me saying I would not be able to renew my driver's license. I call BS. Has ANYONE been refused a driver's license renewal on the basis of not paying one of these tickets?

Got one of those tickets 3 or 4 years ago. Renewed since then... also had to go in twice for duplicate licenses bc I lost mine. Your co-worker is full of shite.

Doubtful, but in Texas some counties will block your vehicle registration renewal.

But if that camera ticket is in Orleans Parish and you don't pay up, better be careful parking your car in the city because they'll boot your car.

I do not pay red light camera tickets. I have had my license renewed since I've had outstanding red light camera tickets.

It depends on where you live and where you got the ticket.
BR doesn't penalize you, yet.
In Houston, they will run your license plate at the toll booths and pull you over if you owe.

I along with a few co-workers have been booted for camera tickets in the CBD NOLA area. They can boot you, that's about it.

You can get your license renewed, however, in TX they will block your car registration from getting renewed until you pay.
