Making this shite legal is just another reason this country is going down the tubes. Proven fact that it kills brain cells. Just check the problems Colorado is having with it.

The problems Colorado is having are related to being a victim of its success - lots of demand to move here. Not due to legal weed. LOL

What problems is Colorado having?

Serious question. I hadn’t heard anything.

Man if you want weed just go the medical route... It's not hard to get in the system.
the stuff you get off market is way more potent than the medical route.....so I heard.

So does alcohol, prescription drugs and social media. What’s your point. I do know that weed is a much more introspective drug than all of those others combined. It’s a great tool if used in moderation.

Form 4473 says "an illegal user of or addicted to any substance..." ATF has already "ruled" that any use of MJ, including approved medical use or legal recreational use, is an ILLEGAL federal act and disqualifies you from gun ownership. Unless you are Hunter Biden of course. They will have to change that ruling if MJ is legalized federally.

That was my question. The could create a lot of problems for a lot of people if the loonies want to tie this into gun confiscation.

It didn't seem hard to get a card years back to begin with. I just wonder if they'll try to disallow buying firearms in some states if you have a card. I know for a CCP there might be issues but in general, having hunting rifles and what not, if that would create a headache.

The question states:

quote:

Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?
Warning: The use or possession of marijuana remains unlawful under Federal law regardless of whether it has been legalized or decriminalized
for medicinal or recreational purposes in the state where you reside.

Also this question:

quote:

Have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution?

People need to really watch how they are getting these medical cards. It could impact their other rights/freedoms.

So the final numbers for the first weekend of rec sales are in:

quote:

The long-awaited start of retail cannabis sales brought out a lot of New Mexicans over the weekend who were ready to spend millions. From Friday through Sunday, New Mexico cannabis businesses racked up a total of more than $3.5 million in recreational use sales statewide.

Those numbers were reported by the Cannabis Control Division (CCD), which tracks sales across the state. On the first day (Friday, April 1), retailers brought in more than $1.9 million, CCD reports show. Saturday sales topped $1 million. On Sunday, sales of recreational cannabis (what the state calls ‘adult use cannabis’) reached more than half a million dollars.

In total, buyers made nearly 58,000 individual transactions. That puts the average purchase at about $61 per purchase.

“New Mexico’s adult-use cannabis sales on Friday, the first day of sales, were almost double the total sales that Colorado saw on its opening day,” says Heather Brewer, the spokesperson for the CCD. “So these are really tremendous numbers showing tremendous support from New Mexicans.”

Even better, read the fine print at the end of the 4473 that spells out the penalties for lying on one...

meanwhile, in canada

A cannabis dispensary to serve domestic air travelers is planned for Prince George Airport in British Columbia, Canada.

quote:

Travelers visiting Prince George Airport in British Columbia this summer could score some weed for their trip at a licensed dispensary, a sign that cannabis continues to be normalized in Canada since legalization in 2018. The Prince George City Council recently gave preliminary approval for Copilot, a cannabis dispensary planned by American business partners Owen Ritz and Reed Horton with the support of airport regulators. The venture was first announced in January by the Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA), which said that Copilot is “pioneering cannabis for travel.”

Here in Kentucky, we tried to pass medical (and one of the strictest medical marijuana bills in the country) this week. Passed in the House.

The only people holding back are the fricking losers still in power.

I forgot what weed show I was watching but they interviewed a Kentucky sheriff. He just said point blank marijuana will never be legal here as long as I’m around.

Dude it’s a money game. I just paid $200 to get my medical marijuana card. The DR didn’t even call me, his assistant did. She said your good to go. They don’t even have cards yet, said maybe by the end of the year. She had to write me a letter incase I get pulled over. I feel like I’m back in school and my mom wrote a letter for the teacher. I think I should be fine but I’ll only know if I get pulled over and get a ticket or not.

The medical card might still be worth it even if your state eventually passes recreational use.

In New Mexico at least, if you have your medical card you're not subject to the state and municipal sales taxes on your purchases which is about 12 to 18%.
