I know of a few places with some very nice cabins, etc. but it sounds like you are looking for something bigger...let me think about it for a bit...

Tablerock lake in Branson Missouri. Great Lake, lots of rentals, and Branson has a ton of activities.

How far you looking to travel? We are looking to rent one either in Texas or in hot springs.

You can hit up Ripley's Believe it or Not!, the wax museum, go cart tower, mirror maze, and still have time for the Midieval dinner show

Camp Crystal Lake has been pretty popular in the past.

Yeah Branson gets a bad rap as an old folks ONLY town but it has tons of stuff other than the geriatric shows. If you want to avoid the crowds then just stay on the lake all day. That's what I usually did. Everyone else could go to town if they wanted though.

Fontana Lake in North Carolina is probably one of my favorites on the east coast.

house boat in Arkansas is the best. IMO You can get some really big ones.

I've heard that the houseboat rental on Dale Hollow lake is great.

Ken - Tenn line

We did a rental on St. John river and it was great. Kind of a long way for you.
