You are now making an arse of yourself.

You are an angry person.

Name calling numerous posters? Really? No one has been unkind to you in anyway in this post.

Now who is "exposed" as you say?

Have a good evening, Charles. You sound like you need one.

Magnanni just isn't my style. They have several simple cap toe shoes that I'd wear, but a lot of their shoes are too "extreme" for me. I'm not wearing all those buckles or crazy designs. Even most of their traditional designs are a little pointy and such for my tastes.

What you described is why I like Magnanni over AE and several other brands. I just like a more sleek looking shoe.

My favorite pair. Magnanni Miro. I have gotten more compliments on these has any other shoes I have ever owned.

I am close to buying two more pairs, similar style but different colors (black and brown)

Magnanni Cotillas

Magnanni's generally have a more pointed toe, European style. The quality is unbelievable...I have become a loyalist at this price range.

I know there are shoes that must be better at higher price points but I haven't found anything that is close to Magnanni in terms of style and quality for $300-350/pair.

Neil M Men's President Oxford

The Black President is my go-to black pair. I have a Blundstone 500 boot and a burgundy Bostonian.

I had just conditioned them all, hence the no laces. All those aren't AE, Carmina, Alden and Tods in there as well

I invested in a pair of AE genuine shell cordovan loafers several years ago. They have that whole "dark brown with a hint of black and burgandy overtone" thing going that is absolutely amazing. This wouldn't be my FIRST pair of grown-up shoes, but I'd get them eventually.

I own AE, Magnanni, Ferragamo, and since I live in Texas, 2 pair of gorgeous Lucchese Classics.

I agree with those who say that it takes years to build an appropriate wardrobe. In some areas it is perfectly ok to dress so so( I live in oneof those places.) But if you have to do business in a wealthy city like Dallas for example, you'd better be able to bring your "A" game.

Start with AE cap toes in brown and black.

Those shoes are exactly what I don't like about Magnanni. I wear these and much prefer the simpler, traditional style.

My next pair will be some cap toe's, then some wing tips. But for now, these are my starter "adult" shoes. I'm not 30 yet, so It's hard to fill a closet with $400 shoes and $5000 suits.

If you are a "shoe enthusiast," fine.

But an employee who is thrifty with his money is more likely to spend my money wisely.

That $500 shoe guy makes me wonder.

Just like the top end car guy.

Magnanni are nice shoes aesthetically, but the major problem is that they are Bologna constructed instead of using a Goodyear welt. If you can find them at a good discount, they're a solid buy, but nowhere near their MSRP.

This is the dumbest thing in this thread. I guess it depends on the industry you're in, but if you're in a professional environment, shoes, shirts, and suits matter.

is an engineering office considered a professional environment?

because if so, I can assure you, it doesn't matter
