I buy quality decent shoes also. I just can't see spending over $400 on a pai of fricking shoes I may have 10 pair of $400 shoes but want something that looks great, wears well and doesn't cost $800.

I wear suits that cost anywhere from 1,100 to 1,500 bucks. But, if I go to Mozingos, one jacket will cost me about 5 grand.

I have reached a high level in my profession and progressing. I know many individuals in the accounting world making north of $1million annually. Most real money makers don't give a shite about what shoes others are wearing..........but keep telling yourself that hotshot.

For daily--yes. I am talking about overall construction and appearance of the shoe--craftsmanship. Yes, there are shoes like Gucci loafers that will set you back $1500, but with something like this, it is more of a fashion statement, not a build quality.

I do have a couple of Church wingtip for when the occasion calls. Thee craftsmanship on these is just fantastic. The feel of that shoe is like no other.

Please understand, I have been a "shoe guy" for years.

If my mid tier employee is wearing $500 shoes, I'll probably wonder if I'm paying him too much.

Yeah, God forbid he wants to take pride in his appearance at work and wants to be a good reflection of your company.

But if he pulled out a $600 iPhone that he will likely replace in 18 months I bet you wouldn't bat an eye.

CharlesLSU,

I didn't mean for my response to sound the way you may have taken it...if so, my bad.

My point was, in a nutshell, that when a man is wearing a complete suit/shoe/tie ensemble that is "not cheap", it is immediately noticeable--the way the fabric hangs, the stiff walls of the shoe, the way the tie holds up in the knot...
For those that are into clothing and shoes--they can tell the difference.

"taking pride in your appearance" does not require $500 shoes.

But if that's your thing, go right ahead. But just saying.

Nice shoes are the ultimate clothing investment (outside of suits/watches). If you properly maintain and take care of nice shoes, they'll last for decades.

True, but most men really aren't that into clothing.

Y'all also went to Jesuit?

And clothing importance depends on type of job, location, and the type of company.

I honestly don't think anyone will be able to tell the difference from $70 to $500 shoes

I mean, how often do you really look at a man's shoes?
