I was inspired by the backpack thread a few weeks ago so here I am asking the OT for advise. I currently use a Swiss Gear backpack for my work lap top, tablet, files and other items I have when visiting clients or traveling. I am looking for a leather messenger/lap top/soft briefcase bag. Work computer is a surface and I carry some gadgets around and tripcally a few accordion style folders or a 3 ring binder. Recommend away.

Ebags.com ...bought one for my laptop while working in Argentina back in the late 90's. It was around 100.00 back then. Still have it.

Are you looking for more of a satchel or attaché?

I found a really badass company called Buffalo Jackson Trading Company that specializes in leather bags for men. I use their pilot bag for all the things you mentioned even when I’m not flying.

Can’t go wrong with saddleback or filson. Buy once, cry once.

I have a Saddleback but I rarely use it. They're great quality and overbuilt, but they're not particularly convenient for business IMO
