King of Kong a fistful of quarters:
About a guy chasing the donkey Kong record. Awesome doc, believe it or not.

Jesus Camp:
About a camp that indoctrinates children into the extreme Christian Right.

Grizzly Man:
About a guy who thinks he has befriended a bunch of Grizzly Bears. He's wrong, they eat him.

Vernon Florida:
About a town that chops off their limbs for insurance money.

Fast, Cheap, and Out of Control:
About a lion tamer, a guy who trains robots, a guy who studies moles, and a topiary.

The Queen f Versailles:
About an uber rich guy, married to a crazy woman, who wants to build the biggest house in the U.S.

Tabloid:
About a crazy woman who kidnaps a Mormon missionary and bangs him.

EDIT: Here is the list of the top 100 Docs (according to this guy) ever made.

Jero Dreams of Sushi on Netflix. Best sushi master in Japan with a restaurant in a subway station hopes his son can take over. It is fantastic.

I enjoyed The Secret State of North Korea. On Netflix I believe.

This was one of the better ones I've seen. It shows somewhat what everyday life is like in North Kore if it's the one I'm thinking of. Vice also has some really good mini- documentaries but you need an hbogo account to acces it.

Do NOT watch Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father . Whatever you do. Unless you don't need to be able to function for a day or two. Trust me.

King of Kong is so money.

No No: A Dockumentary

This absorbing documentary looks at the stormy career of Pittsburgh Pirates ace Dock Ellis, who threw a no-hitter June 12, 1970, while high on LSD.

TWA Flight 800. It was on Netflix a month or ago. It raises a bunch of red flags about the governments handling of the plane crash/explosion and the possible cover up.

The Dust Bowl. Watched it on YouTube. PBS documentary, really well done.

On HBO, so no bonus points for me. But the documentary on Scientology is fascinating.

Imposter - A documentary centered on a young Frenchman who claims to a grieving Texas family that he is their 16-year-old son who has been missing for 3 years.

Let the Fire Burn - A history of the conflict of the City of Philadelphia and the Black Liberation organization, MOVE, that led to the disastrously violent final confrontation in 1985. I was even more amazed when I found out the identity of the person in charge of the Black Liberation Organization. The entire documentary is taken from news footage.

"Dawgfight" on Netflix.

Backyard fighting in a ghetto of Miami.

Sounds dumb but it actually holds a storyline and is pretty interesting, especially if you like watching people get "worldstarred".

Blood from a Stone on history channel.

Its about giant diamonds the Nazis stole. Two US soldiers killed them and took em and when they were in a fox hole a bomb killed one of them. He figured they were bad luck and buried them. The documentary is about the search for them. Its really good.

Man on Wire - about the guy who tightrope walked the twin towers. It's pretty amazing the determination this guy had to accomplish this task. Very motivating.
