You don't get notches in your pistol for shot tires.

Been waiting on this thread to pop up...
The driver was flying through Winnsboro about 100 mph, headed southbound in the wrong lane. He was trying to hit oncoming traffic, and most likely had a death wish.
The Sheriff of Franklin Parish (and a passenger) saw him doing this and pursued.
By the time the reckless driver reached the south end of town, another patrol car--who happened to be working a funeral detail in that vicinity- was waiting and engaged.
That deputy hit the reckless driver with his car, spinning him out of control for a second. That deputy then got out and shot out the tires of the dangerous car.
At this time the sheriff pulls up, and the driver tries to run him over with his car. The Sheriff and others were then forced to terminate the threat.
Toxicology reports will most likely reveal the driver to be juiced up on some bad shite.
The end. All true. Merry Christmas.
Ps... the funeral detail was for a 3 year old boy who had wandered out of his parents house at midnight December 23. He got lost in the dark and rain, fell in a canal a couple hundred yards behind his house and drowned.
All around sad situation in Franklin parish for Christmas Eve.

This. Everybody is jumping to conclusions in here.

The guy was going at an extremely high rate of speed, in the wrong lane, trying to hit oncoming traffic, running through red lights... and got busted.
When he got busted and his tires were shot out, he then tried to run the officers down with his car.
At that point the threat was neutralized.

Good work by those cops.

But for reckless driving? You're telling me there was no way for these cops to neutralize the threat and they felt that their "life was in danger" and they decide to headshot the guy?

They were lucky to have killed him before he killed an innocent person.

deputies were pursuing the reckless driver around 10:30 a.m. and “at some point during the pursuit the deputies feared for their lives and fired at the vehicle.”
Wait, they shot at the car while they were still in motion like a car to car shooting?
Why? What could have made them get scared?

Read my post. It contains the facts, not the article.

If the cops were out of their cars, and this guy was coming at them with his car and there was no venue for escape from the path the car was taking or the officers were standing in front of sensitive targets that could not move, I have no problem with the lethal force.

You're either young or stupid. How the hell are you supposed to stop a man behind a 3000 lb car? Its obvious without tires this moron can still drive. Cops have tasers, pepper spray and guns. Maybe you can MacGyver the shite out that and stop them.
Easy, little fella..We can converse without name calling like petulant children. Deal? Ok.
I simply am confused as to why police in pursuit of a vehicle thought "their lives were in danger" and decided to kill the guy? Something doesn't add up. But at this point the evidence is pretty limited/vague.

I've been pulled over for reckless driving while getting road head

Exactly the situation and how it ended.
As I said in my first post, toxicology reports will bring this situation up to speed (swidt?) because as of now nobody knows why this guy was so juiced up and trying to kill people on Christmas Eve.
Measures were taken, however, to subdue him without using lethal force. He earned a more drastic reaction when he tried to run down the Sheriff of Franklin Parish with his car.

Sorry I missed this. If this is indeed what happened then of course I commend the use of legal force in this instance.
