this is where you are losing people. its the same pitbull argument "best dogs ever, until they arent"
how does 'none of it make sense" when this guy had a history of drug use, had to move across state to over come it, and you are hearing from people that he could have relapsed.
i dont know figures, but i would imagine relapse probably has a pretty high percentage of happening among addicts. not low enough to where you can say "this doesnt make sense'

Toxicology reports and the state police investigation will bring it up to speed.

All around shitty situation. I'm sorry it happened.

What he is saying would be a better explanation that what friends and family are being given.

You're good with reckless driving being a capital offense, and the the cops being judge, jury, and executioner?

We have a term for people like you. "fricking idiot."

Yes, This is no different than brandishing a weapon and being told to put it down and continuing to wave it around like a fricking idiot.

But you did say "he had been sober all along" after you said the last time you saw him was in 2011... a lot of shite can change in that time.

Not one single friend or family member has mentioned that he relapsed. The only person saying drugs were involved is Honest Tune.

He wasn't a crazy person, or mentally unstable so a relapse would be the only explanation unless the cops are lying and covering their asses.

NOBODY involved wanted him to die. They are all family men who were only involved because they were working a funeral for a 3 year old boy. Sad day for all part of it.

My relative found synthetic weed and a pipe in his posession not cannabis. Fwiw. He was also the last person to say words to the man before he took his last breath. My relative didn't shoot him fwiw also.

I simply am confused as to why police in pursuit of a vehicle thought "their lives were in danger" and decided to kill the guy? Something doesn't add up. But at this point the evidence is pretty limited/vague.

They didn't think their lives were in danger they thought your life, your son or daughters life, your wife's life was in danger or any innocents life was in danger. GEt it now, good!

I'm assuming cops are only talking to immediate family. Maybe just one person who's likely very upset. Is it the exact story of the other poster? Probably not.

My point is that both sides will be filtered, exaggerated... wrong, in other words.

Some of it seems pretty basic and easily provable. Speeding and swerving through a small town. Contact with cop cars. Toxicology.

This isn't a TV show. This isn't how real life works.

He was going the wrong way in ona divided highway, placing lives in danger. I very much hate that the individual was killed, but I'm thankful that his completely selfish behavior which could have killed innocent people was stopped.

It's his fault.

Glad the police officer was able to keep other lives out of danger.

Unless of course it was a white officer and the fleeing offender was black. In that case it would obviously be a hate crime.

As soon as I heard about it, i thought "well, it will only be news if he's black." Sad that that is the way things play out in the world today.

I'm as close to one of the officers involved as blood relatives can be. Had to drink some whiskey with him the other night just to get him to relax. He hadn't eaten for 2 days.

He was solemn when he said this, but he looked the man in the eye as he was spitting blood up and said "I'm sorry you did this, but you are about to die for it." And then the guy died. It has taken its toll on my relative, and he has seen A LOT of bad shite since joining the force. First shooting though.

I'm pretty sure I know who you are. I definitely know the officer. Sad all the way around for sure.
