What do you happens to blue collar wages once unemployed people start going into trades? Let me know
They go down as they should.
Just like computer coders' salaries go down when there is a glut of qualified workers.
Just like every other profession in capitalism.

The site you linked is a known garbage site, and any data there is likely incorrect.
I’m assuming you’re referring to this:
LINK
Which has 23.5% for bachelors and 14.4% for advanced degrees, which matches what I posted. Almost 40%.

Congrats, you own a calender.
What is the date on your chart, and can you link to the actual Census report?
You always post bs stuff with no credible source.

Yes but my peers graduated but my generation graduated college from 14-17 after everything rebounded and we were too young to understand or feel the recession. We were in highschool

Americans jobs used to be for Americans now it’s for the globe. We no longer want to develop and grow our own work force we just want desperate people with no other options.
That's capitalism

Going to college is great if you have a specific avenue you want to go for.
Architecture, law field, medical, sciences, finance, engineering, etc.
But when a person chooses the other 90% of stupid shite to go for, this is what happens.
I don’t get why people don’t understand that the bulk majority of college degrees are a money grab and designed for no other reason because they don’t get a person much in life
I understand the beef with non-descript degrees.
And people understand it's a money grab. The larger issue is that for most people, you have to have a degree for even a lower level job that 10-20 years ago didn't require a degree.
I do career counseling with young adults. I can't tell you how many of those young people have applied for jobs that SHOULD be entry level positions but require a 4-year degree before they'll even consider you. Not everyone can be in a trade like plumbing, electrician, sheet metal, etc.

quote:I've said it before: HS graduates are groomed by school counselors to assume university and nothing less. It's one big club and the commodity is the prospective student. Throw guaranteed government backed loans and everybody jacks the price of tuition up. They create all sorts of different college departments, and, oftentimes, cook the books on post graduation employment and salary numbers to "sell" the degree and concentration to the student, and boom: everybody wins except the 18 year with an undeveloped prefrontal cortex.

Instead of the college degree being the product offered to the customer, the customer has become the product to the college degree. Our high school graduates are there for the taking, just create a degree for them to fall prey to.
They're not interested in educating students and creating freethinkers and contributors, they're interested in the commoditization of college attendance, and they'll cook up any bullshite department they can get funding for in order to do it. It's a ponzi scheme at this point, and it starts in high school academic counseling offices.

I will say accounting has been an extremely stable field over the past 10 years.

Fair enough, it was the first thing that came up in a google search and it was pretty close to the what I’ve read in the past…so it wasn’t “completely” unvetted.

This is hilarious and sad which is relatable to me. It’s exactly the position in. College graduate had multiple jobs in different industries. Most just useless admin and management stuff. Now I’m working from home not much growth and Covid really hurt our job growth and many people got stuck.
As I’ve already told you, this is noones fault but your own. If you hadn’t proven yourself a dumbass, I could’ve had you a job by the end of the week that starts at $70k and 4-5 weeks of PTO
