Don't even have 700 miles on my Jeep GC and a rock smashed into the passengers side of the WS. Star was about the size of a quarter. I went straight to a suburban glass shop that I know and in the 20 minutes from when I checked in until when they were going to start the repair, the crack ran over 12" and has since run about 6 more.

I have GEICO, but literally just a month ago replaced my wife's WS using my $250 deductible because the total cost was $1850.

My suburban glass shop said they can't get the WS right now. The dealer doesn't do them. Safelite's on line quote last week was ~$850 and now it's $1425. No idea why it skyrocketed.

I'm going self pay on this. My agent said the ins. companies are not supposed to raise rated for comp claims, but she said she has seen it happen.

Any other suggestions?

You are lucky a New Orleans resident didn't break your side windows to match.

We had both our front passenger windows smashed during Mardi Gras and called up Jazz Auto Glass and they were able to replace them same day. Off Broad Street, helpful dudes and cost was like $175 per window. Not sure how the price compares to full windshield though.

File the claim. It's what the insurance is for. Comp claims won't increase your premiums. IF you had a ton of comp claims, shitty credit, and tickets you might get dropped. But really, the shitty credit and tickets would be the main cause.

Add glass replacement to your policy, wait a few weeks, use policy for glass replacement. Mine cost nothing

I second Broad Auto Glass on Tulane Avenue. Used them several times.

There’s a half price glass shop on airline and clearview, but have never used them. I’ve been intrigued by their claims of half price though.

It happened on the interstate between Vets overpass and Williams, west bound. Just using NOLA as a metro, but I'm not in the city itself.

Thanks for the recs. I've left a message for Broad.

State Farm sent me to Star Glass on the Westbank expressway. They were fast and inexpensive
