- The vast majority of the crime is contained in a handful of large population centers (New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport). Stay away from those places and you’re good

- It’s just shitty enough to keep the Californians and New Yorkers away

- The cost of living is very reasonable. For 200-300K you can live in a palace

- The job market is not terrible for a poor state. You can find employment if you try.

- Most people are still somewhat friendly and genuine, which is rare in today’s society

- Some of the best hunting and fishing on planet earth.

- Great food/ unique culture/ historical attractions

That’s pretty much all I I’ve got... by most metrics Louisiana sucks but at least the small communities stick together and you can live like a king if you have a decent work ethic.

Oh look. A thread on a Louisiana based message board where everyone can come in and say what a shitty place we live in. How original! We haven’t had this topic of conversation in at least 24 hours. I just wish all the people who complain would move to CA or NYC or one of those other places so I could have a bit less traffic, a bit more room to hunt and fish and a bit of relief from their constant bitching.

So basically it's a good hunting state. Thanks, I'll pass.

Not for long. They've either already torn it down or they're in the process of rewriting it so the SJW community doesn't catch the butt hurt. Louisiana hates history.

#2 is about it. The education level of the state is terrible and us intelligent ones have to deal with that

if you had one between you and Texas it would almost be heaven on earth.

I have only lived in Louisiana for one summer when I was a kid but I have spent considerable time in the state and it seems like it would be about as good a place to live as any. People are nice, food is great, culture is interesting, hunting and fishing is as good as it gets. I know nothing of the economy but I do know the state is considered poor but that is not uncommon in the south outside of metro areas. I may be wrong but I think I'd be happy living in Louisiana.

I agree with point 1 and 2

I'm not sure on the COL, in north GA my 300k house would be probably over half a million in ascension, and the salaries in la aren't going to carry like they do in other places.

I agree with the rest.
