I hate that commercial

I always figured the only thing that commercial would do is make potheads hungry

This thread turned my life around as well, thanks OP. Now what do I do with all this heroin? Donate it?

Interesting. Aren't you a pharmacist? Were you a pharmacist whe you were using? I would assume that wasn't easy.

I have the feeling that working in a Pharmacy makes it too easy

You're more than welcome. It's hard sometimes to share that info because you always have some people who will look down at you no matter what. Even if it isn't a part of your life anymore. But lately I've come to realize and hope that if my story, which is way more than what I wrote, can help one person, then it did what it was intended to do. And I don't concern myself anymore with people who knew that part of me but won't get over it. I can only let my actions show the true me.
And for the one poster coming up on 4 years that is awesome. Keep it up and try to help the ones who do want the help and just pray for the ones who don't. Be a light for them and a living testimony.

Big Pharma pushes opiates on doctors.
Doctors overprescribe them, giving every Tom, Dick, and Harry 3 refills of hydros for a sprained ankle.
Average Joe from the suburbs is now addicted and has to go shopping for his fix (original injury has long since healed, he's now self-medicating other issues or a full on junkie).
Pent up demand leads to hundreds of pill mill doctors opening up shop for "pain management".
Government starts cracking down on pill mill doctors, junkies have to look for something else, end up on heroin.

Surgery doesn't always go right. I had right shoulder surgery in 2013, I'm acutely aware of it every single day. Have a permanent 30lb weight restriction on it.
Plus, once your body is hooked, which isn't your fault(it's what the human body does, some just take longer to give in than others), the withdrawals are terrible. Every joint feels like it has electricity going through it. Especially when you try to sleep. So you shake constantly. Then there is the diarrhea, the lack of energy, the body ache, your brain can't hardly think, and there are several others issues beyond those. It sucks. Been going through it myself on and off. But keep having to stay on opioids because I can't take the 3 months I would probably need to get past em. Farthest I've made it was a month, and I still couldn't sleep at night without getting absolutely hammered drunk.
I've at least lowered my tolerance which I'm happy with. Hoping I can start weaning off soon. At one point I needed 60mg of Norco or Percocet to be comfortable for 3 hours. Now I'm down to only 10.
It's a tough process, and it absolutely sucks. I used to judge drug addicts. But after my experience over the past 4 years, I have a lot more sympathy.

You would be surprised. I used to do it once or twice a year, though not shooting it up. It's possible, but I'm certainly not going to recommend that anyone try it.

You seem like Superman when it comes to drug use. Do you have a kryptonite?
