Based on LDH data from today.
Vaccinated people are 7 times less likely to test positive for covid during this delta surge. This equates to 86% efficacy.

Vaccinated are 5 times less likely to be hospitalized. This equates to 80% efficacy. This rate and efficacy would be better when normed for the high rate of people most at risk for hospitalizations being vaccinated.

According to the CDC, the adverse affect hospitalization rate in the US for the covid vaccines is roughly 1 in 500,000.

Currently 1 out of every 3200 unvaccinated people in Louisiana is hospitalized.

The people on here that are unvaccinated still think Trump won the election. You aren't gonna get them to get the vaccine by posting statistics from the CDC.

What is that actual #?

There are 1008 people in the hospital per LDH
Which is 0.02% of the states population

I think the conspiracy theorists are the ones who think that ice cream eating dementia patient in the White House got 81 million votes. Trump won BIGLY

I guess thats why Biden's approval rating is over 50% and Trump’s was close to 40%, cause Trump won BIGLY! Seems like the approval ratings match what the election numbers were to me.

COVIDsessed.

but seriously, the unvaccinated are the entire reason this thing is still around and i could loosely make a case that the unvaccinated are also the cause of global warming and racism. tell me i won’t

If you take the Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals data at face value--there are issues with doing so--then the Louisiana covid survival rate, both over the whole course of this and over the most recent period, is about 97.7%. Of course it varies a lot with age; for kids it's above 99.9%, and it decreases with age so that for those 70+ it's about 85%.

[ETA]
At the moment the votes on this post are 3 up and 2 down. I'm genuinely curious why people voted down. If you're tired of the topic, then why did you click on this thread at all? But if you're interested in the topic, then why aren't you interested in actual data, despite its having issues, instead of made-up 'statistics'? And if you question my numbers, let me break it down for you:

Covid deaths tend to come about three weeks after the diagnosis. If you look at total deaths through today divided by cases through three weeks ago, you get:

10900 deaths / 482560 cases = 2.3% death rate = 97.7% survival rate, which is exactly what I wrote above;

and if you look at deaths over the last month divided by cases for a month set three weeks earlier:

(10900 - 10723 deaths) / (482560 - 475354 cases) = 2.5% death rate = 97.5% survival rate, pretty close to what I wrote above.

Bottom line is the vaccines work better than could have been hoped for a year ago.

I’m starting to feel less and less bad for people dying from this when you can walk into Walmart and get the shots.

I’m also baffled by hardcore MAGA people not wanting to get vaxxed: remind me again under which commander-in-chief Operation Warp Speed was launched…

Any data on folks with prior infection, but not vaccinated?

well orange man didn’t threaten us with storm troopers coming to our house inquiring if we were vaccinated. And he knew his “MAGA people” weren’t huge pussies afraid of a disease with a 99% survival rate. He let people make their own decisions. Democrats LOVE being told what to do
