However, 71% of consumers in China say they would rather lose their wallet than their phone.
The smartphone is everything here in China. Mobile pay by QR code has spread so fast. It is available for every purchase, even little markets and food carts. Every person has a digital wallet on their phone that you can transfer money to if you need. It has been a couple months since I've used an ATM or paid somewhere by card.

Wallet. Passport for ID in the meantime or state issued badge. Google pay for payments. I can look up whatever is in my wallet.

My phone is backed up, I can kill my credit cards pretty quickly if I have my phone so losing my keys would probably be the worst.
Order of Worst
Keys
Wallet (because I generally carry about $1,000 in cash)
Phone (work-issued, not insured but we have over 50 active phone accounts so there’s always a free upgrade available, cost to the firm = $0)

Wallet easily. My license, debit and 2 credit cards can be replaced online. I feel like this is a no brainer.
I would be out cost of wallet ($120), $120 in cash and $100 in gift certificates. This still does not equal the remaining balance I owe on the phone.

The phone at least has some sort of tracking.
I get the question probably implies actually losing without recovering.
My wallet would worth wayyyy less though and I have no issues getting replacement cards sent.

Phone has a ton of more valuable information stored inside of it. Much more than any cloud service can backup. My wallet is basically just a bunch of easily replaceable cards I hardly ever use. And there's not much actual cash inside, if any.
Really much rather lose a wallet than a a phone for several reasons.

My phone. I can get a new one the next day. If I lose my wallet, then that means having to go get a new license, losing the money I have in it, having to get new cards, etc, etc..
I think I can go a day or so without my phone.
This is the only correct answer. I know from experience.

A wallet, even with cards and identification, is so much cheaper to replace compared to a phone.

All of you saying your phone is too expensive to replace....do none of you carry insurance on your phones? Are you poor?
It literally takes about an hour to have your phone replaced and have everything back on it. It takes weeks to get new cards and not to mention countless hours spent just at the DMV alone.

No phone insurance for me. That's a scam for the dumb and poor. You still have to pay a $250 deductible for a new phone, don't you? You can order a replacement license online, you don't need to go to the DMV. What terrible bank do you have where it takes 3 weeks for a new card?
