It's been 157 years, and I can still smell the fresh black powder. The bayonets had never been used. The sheets had never been paraded in...

Several companies from the Texas brigade were mauled in the fighting over Miller's cornfield at Antietam, suffering 83 % killed and wounded, the highest casualty rate of any units in a single battle in American history. My great-great grandfather was in Company F and was only wounded, else I wouldn't be here.

It’s so easy to forget people long ago were just as goofy, fallible, intelligent, and alive as we are now, just because all we have are cave paintings, paintings, statues, or black and white pics.

As minimally as this is colored, it feels even more “real.” What a gem.

I do not. Though I must admit I was probably either angry, drunk or both and have been changing my ways. I was not a good person from 2013-2018 IMHO.
You said some hurtful and mean things to me during this period.

A Brooks Brothers 38 Regular Sport Coat would go a long way in making up for it.

I've read a bit of the article and I do lean towards the conclusion that this is taken in 1864.

The article has some info WRT that sign not being there until 1863.

You have zero understanding of history.

This is why the NPC memes are so perfect.

Someone people(you)just want to be ruled.

I would imagine if Lee and Grant both could see what's going on today, they'd form their armies side by side and march on Washington to clean out the cesspool it has become, they would think us madmen for allowing the depths the country has sunken to.

OP: here is a historical picture of Confederate Soldiers.

Edgy Zoomer while getting a blowjob from their boyfriend: “fricking losers ha! Bunch of traitors! fricking melt snowflakes! My wrists hurts.”

A shame there's no way for those candyasses to be running their mouths, look up and there comes Bedford Forrest riding hard with his boys right at them.

That would not have helped heal the nation in the wake of the war.

Can we really imagine what it was like to be alive then?

I know I couldn't. As a black man, I wouldn't even be considered human. I would either be enslaved or hung. I wouldn't even want to experience anything my black ancestors had to endure for me to have the freedoms in which I enjoy today.

Well the 50,000 troops Grant already had wouldn’t have been enough so I imagined Grant would have called for another 50,000 to force Lee to do it. Just like how he won all his battles, 4:1 edge in manpower but let’s make it 10:1 instead so he can feel comfortable with his battle plan.
