I tend to not know much about what is going on in Baton Rouge or other cities but I'm just waiting for Latoya to be led away in Handcuffs so yes on #1. Jason Williams is already awaiting his trial so yes on that. Peterson just made her plea deal and has resigned so I guess we can't vote for her anymore. Not even a mention for our governor?

Huey Long would be ashamed of how corrupt Bob Odom was.
It really was that bad, I had a tangential look at one of Odom's projects. He and his "people" were pure D dog shite.

If you want to fix this then change the Statute of limitations from 5 years for politicians to 15 or more. I have friends who are in federal law enforcement and they’ve told me repeatedly that politicians game the system because of the 5 year cap. By the time a crime is identified, a case built and then can be prosecuted time has expired.

One guy ran against Robbie Barousse about 10-12 years ago and ran at him hard. Did his best to talk about the cronyism in that courthouse.
There was accounts of intimidation towards some folks who had signs for the challenger in their yards, especially if they have family members who worked in local government.

Karen Carter Peterson. While she was a state senator and the Chair of the Louisiana Democratic Party, she diverted campaign money to herself to fund her gambling habit.

Francis Thompson.
That being said as far as corruption in modern age Louisiana politics goes-this current bunch is playing amateur hour compared to Bob Odom

For you not to include EWE , far and away, as Louisiana's most corrupt politician ever makes this poll null and void. Possibly the most corrupt politician of all time.

fricked LA for centuries. All the harm done to that state was under the guise of "social reform."

While her ideology is about the farthest from mine than any others mentioned in this thread, even just talking about elected officials over the past two decades, KPC's got nothing on Alario, Francis Thompson, Bob Odom and Derrick Sheppard.
Hell, Bob Odom was so bad, that former Governor Blanco, as ineffective as she was overall as Governor, did her best to stop his boondoggles across the state. She at least had the moral compass to try to block him and Don Hines from stealing from the taxpayers.

And once & IF your in that level of pocket, it’s an exchange/multiple exchanges for policy and favor.
It’s the way the world works unfortunately, and Louisiana has always led the charge in that Dept.

Blanco by all accounts was a sweet lady; just in over her head as governor.

1. Latoya
2. Jeff Landry
3. Nungesser
4. Jason Williams
5. Anyone else who's held an elected position for more than 2 consecutive years. They're all the same.
Year 1: "I'm going to make a difference!" or "I'm going to run government like I run my business!"
Year 1.5 "These free lunches sure are nice. And people love talking to me. I sure do enjoy all of this attention."
Year 2: "Yes, lobbyist. That's a great bill. I understand how it benefits your client. I really enjoyed that fishing trip we went on. The hookers and blow were top notch. Sure, I'll vote for that bill."
Year 2.5: "Bruce Wainer, that's a great idea for a development. We could definitely use those apartment complexes in that already congested spot. So what do you think we need to get that done? Oh, and thanks so much for that campaign contribution! That $5k will really help. I've just really enjoyed the free dinners and attention and social engagements. I'd hate to give it all up. I wonder who else will contribute to my campaign so I can get reelected and feel important for a few more years?"
Lather, rinse, repeat.
