Got an email from Range USA today stating: “Our Baton Rouge store is temporarily closed. Our store and range are CLOSED until further notice. We will notify you via email when the Baton Rouge store re-opens. We appreciate your understanding.”

Anyone know what’s going on?

The one time I went in there the staff were dicks, unhelpful, and I never went back

I tried to arrange a group of people to shoot there one Saturday. The staff was unhelpful. Did not need my business apparently.

I've been in the store but not the range. They had decent prices.

This the same place that didn’t allow practicing with human silhouette targets? Screw that.

Shoot, y’all don’t go ballistic. The caliber of their clientele didn’t generate enough bang for their buck.

I go to FRC on Choctaw. It's smaller but it's nice and the workers will help if you ask. Location isn't the best but the parking is gated with video cameras, plus everyone in there is armed.

Last time I went there I left really quick. There was a guy shooting a cheap AK next to me. This dude shot it left handed and right handed both under his arm pit . When he finally put it on his shoulder it was way high and the dude had no idea how to handle a firearm.

I’m fine with people learning to shoot but not next to me.

Went to an another range in Baton Route and had a bunch or Russian sounding dudes shoot a .50 cal desert Eagle next to me. They would shoot a round and pass the gun to the next guy. They are all laughing and ejecting a live round out of the mag loading a new round into the chamber. The whole time they were pointing into the next bay over which was my bay.

Hauled arse out of there pretty quick also. There’s a reason I don’t shoot around Baton Rouge very much.

Sucks because I’ve got some cool guns that I would love to shoot more but the Baton Rouge shooting ranges suck.

They saw that free one open up in NO East and knew they couldn’t compete.

There is a range down in Cut Off, Louisiana that has an 800 yard rifle range. It is along the back road. When it first opened, there was an issue where people using the rifle range were missing the backstop and hitting the levee.

Range membership for one adult includes:

Unlimited range time on 800 yard rifle and 50 yard pistol range
4 guest passes per fiscal year
FREE AR-15 machine gun rental (30 rounds) annually on your birthday

FRC is a fantastic place to shoot and train. Done quite a few classes there. Can't say enough good things.

Odd, I got one too and was there last Saturday. Didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary there.
