So you're saying vampires are autistic?

True but the offense puts the ball into play.

Aaron Burr, who is most famous for his duel with Alexander Hamilton, was tried in court for trying to overthrow the federal government by taking over the newly acquired Louisiana Purchase.

The town of Burrville, TN decided to change its name (in 1809) after the shame that Aaron Burr brought to the name by conspiring with the governor of the Louisiana Purchase Territory. The town changed its name to something more respectable...Clinton, TN. So, it is just a matter of time until the town has to change its name again, I suppose.

Burrville, TN...

quote:

On November 8, 1809, by act of Tennessee State Legislature, the town of Burrville was renamed because of the disgrace felt when Burr was charged with treason for conspiring with the Governor of the Louisiana Purchase, to form another country from part of the Louisiana Purchase and part of Mexico. The selection of the name "Clinton" was most likely to honor George Clinton or his nephew, DeWitt Clinton.[

I was talking with some of my friends the other day about this girl I was recently dating having "Peter Pan Syndrome." I thought this was a common term but apparently not. Here's the definition:

Peter Pan Syndrome

The uncontrollable undeniable natural yearning to stay forever young at heart. Not immature but playful. Not naive but constantly curious and wondering. Disinterest towards more responsibilities (having children/family) but more so interested in playing-having good times-exploring-traveling-learning-getting lost.

"He's almost turning 30 with no kids, no wife, no mortgage.. He must have Peter Pan Syndrome"

By law, a pregnant woman can pee anywhere she wants to in Britain, even if she chooses, in a police officer’s helmets.

Handshakes were originally meant to make sure that the person you were meeting wasn’t carrying a concealed weapon. The hand clasp proved that your hand was empty and shaking was meant to dislodge any weapons hiding up the sleeve.

Rubbing a banana peel on mosquito bites can help stop the itching.

The small fleshy extension that hangs at the back of the mouth above the opening of the throat is called the uvula.

It helps to close the nasopharynx during swallowing, so that no food can enter the nasal passage. It also causes the initiation of the gag reflex if stimulated.

During the 80's an 18-year old prison guard in Australia was stabbed with a syringe and injected with a full vial of AIDS positive blood. Even after that, his chances of infection were 1 in 1,000.

He did contract AIDS and died at the age of 25.

The city of Oak Ridge, TN (where the Uranium was processed for the bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima as part of the Manhattan Project) did not exist when the Japanese bombed Pearl harbor. The three plants (X-10, K-25 and Y-12) along with the entire city to support the operations, were built from scratch during the war. One of the buildings built for the project (K-25 building) was the biggest building in the world at the time...over 1,640,000 square feet.

K-25 building

The entire city was built in secret in an area where water and cheap electricity were plentiful...and it would be easy to hide in the surrounding terrain. The city did not appear on any public map until 1949.

Babe Ruth threw a no hitter without throwing a single strike.

Babe Ruth in a game against Washington walked the first batter of the game on 4 pitches and then was ejected for hitting the umpire. Ernie Shore came in relief, and picked off the runner. He then retired the next 26 batters of the game.

It was the first combined no hitter(Ruth/Shore) in baseball history.
Shore would get credit for throwing a perfect game that wasn't perfect.
And the newspaper makes a typo 1808 instead of 1908.
