The study also said blacks are the group highest to try and get over on someone or some angle to get something they shouldn’t.

This fricking dumb take again. It’s a custom. It’s not relevant how much they get paid. One can assume they don’t get paid much, though, because just about anybody can do it. So it’s a custom to give a tip. And people

[quote]This site loves to shite on black people (because they don’t like black people), but there’s bad tippers in every race and class. Old whites, blacks, Asians, all have a large cohort of bad

This is a lot of equivocation to go through just to white knight. Saying black people don’t tip isn’t shitting on them. It’s because they don’t tip. Saying they order colored drinks isn’t shitting in them. It’s because they order colored drinks. Saying they eat half their meal, then complain, send it back and demand it be taken off the bill… well same thing because they do that too. And a lot more than the occasional anecdotal evidence from the other groups you just mentioned.

Now saying they all get along swimmingly on cruises. Well that’s just not true at all. ??

Honestly, if any waitstaff were to follow me like that, regaurdless of the reason, it would be a very bad decision.

But regardless of all of that, that server following that dude around for several minutes and several blocks is out of line.

I watched part of it. I’ll take the side of the guy from the restaurant. I’m tired of whiny people filming shite

If there was a server who comes to the table, the filmer is wrong for not tipping. If it’s a walk up to the counter and get your own food kind of place or takeout, tips are the classy and decent thing but it’s not as egregious not to leave one. There are drive through places with a tip line, though. But i have to say the store owner seemed nuts just based on the video, but we didn’t see what happened before the cheapskate started filming, either.

Im absolutely not tipping for takeout.

WTF
It depends on what kind of place for me. Counter only or a dedicated take out counter and I rarely tip, since they almost always have employees earning a regular wage. Traditional dine in places I'll usually leave (at most) a buck or two because these places often assign a regular server to take out duty (on a rotation) and they still earn a servers wage when working to go.

Bull shite.

This culture of “pay me for providing service” is ridiculous.

Do your job, do it well, and maybe you get rewarded with a tip. If you want tips to be required, then you better include it in the price.

Going out to eat =\= going to subway. In that sense I agree with you.

They grew up with ten percent being the normal for 50 years. Just because someone declared 20% the normal don't expect everyone to follow it. I may tip anywhere from 10% to 30%, depending on the service and food.
