He was Howard's "stylist" and was a regular call in guest on the show. I met him once in Atlantic City in 2002 at the Stuttering John vs Crazy Cabbie boxing match.
Him and Howard were very close.

I still remember after Warren Zevon was diagnosed with terminal cancer, he was on Letterman and said, "let's just say I made a tactical error in not seeing a physician for 20 years...one of those phobias that didn't pay off."

He had cancer...lymphoma... and suffered a HA during surgery and died. He had waited too long to address the cancer.
