Sorry, states with no coastline are not in contention for "greatest place on earth"

yeah the only thing that CO has over the PNW is sunshine

the PNW has everything CO can offer, plus all the benefits of a coastline

What the PacNW calls "rain," we call "drizzle." The OP is correct.

The front range is too frickin crowded now but I suspect that is true of Seattle and Portland as well.

My cousin won a lot of beer in Portland by betting Mobile is the rainiest city. They were all certain it was Seattle.

I love Colorado, but this is true.

you have obviously been/lived there. I haven't but it just seems like the streets are usually wet...is my perception wrong?
No, from October to around May you get the weather people think about when they hear the PNW. The summer months are the most beautiful, especially when Mt. Ranier is in the backdrop.

Get a vehicle with 4x4 or AWD. Problem solved.

You only get this type of view during the summer months, but it's gorgeous in person.

Puget Sound, for sure. However you can still escape the crowds in the NW. Places like the North Cascades... It's one of the least visited NP's in the lower 48.

I could definitely do without the coast and if I lived my whole life from here on out without ever going to it again, I would be fine with that. It's humid, the air is salty, and it trends to be a magnet for trashy people. Give me the mountains and streams of Colorado.

I love the topography and activities in the PNW, I just really really hate dreary, cloudy weather.
