For those that have traveled this road, what was your decision?

Sincerely appreciate all the feedback, especially the side affects of each option. For me, it is more about lifestyle then longevity, so that will play largely in the final decision. Thanks again.

Wifes uncle does radioactive seeds. Seems to be working.

ETA: I believe he was diagnosed stage III C. Only in prostate. 70 years old. Side effects are he is fatigued later in day. Was very active, but doing very well.

It can be a different protocol, based on the patient, cancer stage, etc.
My dad qualified for a clinical trial at MD Anderson with LINK ]Dr. Christopher Logothetis.
This was several years back, but he responded beautifully.

Best of luck to the individual.

Do both. It's called Brachytherapy.

My mom went to doctors in Jackson and bham when she was diagnosed with cancer a few years back. The dr’s there told her to have surgery now and then do radiation treatment.

She then got another opinion from the doctors at MD Anderson and they said that way of doing it was the old way and she should do radiation to decrease the size of the tumors as much as possible and then do surgery after the chemo. She went that route and has had great results with MD Anderson. Best cancer hospital on this great planet and I thank god for them everyday

He treated my friends dad for prostate cancer a while back, maybe 4 or 5 years. Dude whooped that cancers arse. He goes back every 6 months or so for a full screening and there hasn’t been so much as a blip on the radar.

Doesn't matter to me. I'm old.

I went radiation, and am glad I did. I think I am much better off than my friends that had surgery based upon what they describe, both as to process and results.

My urologist cuts and he told me to see a radiologist before I made my decision.

Had mine removed 3 weeks ago. My PSA went from 3.8-5.6 in a year, Gleason score was 7. My doctor said surgery was my only option.

I'm recovering fine and incisions are almost healed.

Surgery. Then just watch. Prostate cancer usually doesn't move that fast.
