And what reality is that?

When I was growing up the blacks all lived in a certain area of town, and we only had one in our class at school.
Now my mom has some Mexicans living in her neighborhood.
What's the world coming to

I'm sure they are doing more than just living in her neighborhood.

This state really does have a problem with racism.
Wrong!
We have a subset of the population that has a cultural problem.

I went to a public high school that was almost 50/50. This was in the 90s, but at recess, there was a commons area and one side all the white people hung out, another side where all the blacks hung out, but there was a point when whites and blacks started to engage more with each other at recess, etc.
There were certain groups of whites and certain groups of blacks who would never hang out with the other race, outside of school, but the group I hung out with.. We would hang out together outside of school. If someone was a friend, they were a friend, whether they were black or white. Going to a black friend's house for the first time.. in general, their families were more welcoming than going to a white friends house for the first time.
There was this old white man who lived in the neighborhood next to mine. He was not shy about being racist. One time he saw all of us in a field in which part of the land was his.. There were several black kids there, everyone was playing ball.. And that old frick called one of the white kids over and made them go tell the black kids to leave and don't ever come around his property because he doesn't want "n word" on his property. I understand why older generations are more racist, they just grew up during a time when that's just how it was, but today we should be beyond the point of where we are in terms of race.
I can't hate someone just because they were born with different skin color. There are good and bad people from every race. Don't get me wrong, I am not one of these "white guilt" types, I think to some degree, I think it takes a little bit of racism for someone to have "white guilt", but racism isn't different than it is in.. lets say New York City.. States like Indiana, etc..

Most people in everyday life are generally fairly nice to each other and want to avoid negative confrontation.
There is also a small handful of incidents that happen, and blowhards who to like to talk, and that gets the media coverage.

It's not racist just because you don't agree with how certain parts of our population live. Live right and contribute to society and you won't be judged and disliked. I have never seen with my eyes an outright hatred for someone just because of their skin color but that's just me. Others may have but I think its a very small percentage

Wasn't hard to figure out. I assume you went to Marksville Middle and then your parents wised up and sent you to Buckeye for high school by lying about your address. LOL.

If you think Louisiana is any different than any other state, you are sadly fooling yourself. Try visiting some of the "enlightened" western and northern states.

You'd be surprised. You know any personally?
Note to TD - what some black folks discuss amongst themselves isn't always conveyed with yall, even if you two are best buds. Just a fact.
