If you think Louisiana is any different than any other state, you are sadly fooling yourself. Try visiting some of the "enlightened" western and northern states.
It's amazing how much influence the media has on some people. Louisiana and the rest of the south is the most desegregated part of the country. I know people that live north of chicago that have no interactions with black people yet think the south is full of racists...but we actually interact with each other on a daily basis. My BIL is still amazed how you can travel around BR and be in a great neighborhood and a few hundred yards away is a bad one.
Why don't asians get more crap for being racists?

LA has the highest percentage of blacks in the country.
I just figure if people were that racist. Not just maybe saying a stereotype, but just down right hating someone because they look diff, why not move?
Living in baton rouge for 12 years I've seen racism the other way. Especially darker skinned blacks towards light skinned blacks.
Blacks to Latinos, Latinos to blacks.
Asians towards everybody...

48 years ago I lived in a town that had a white area and a black area. 4 black kids jumped me on my way to the post office and flailed at me with belts. WTF said an innocent white teenager? Took me 25yrs to actually feel different about them. So, with that said, I worked for a large corporation for 43 years and learned tolerance and acceptance due to our environment within said corp.

I only experinced racism when I went to North Louisiana ato college and it seemed a lot of the black people there were on guard for any racial missteps or miscues. They tended to read into something that was said or mishear something that was said. I take that as a secondary effect of racism in North Louisiana.
People down south are good loving people for the most part. I have never witnessed racism in and around New Orleans.

I was just in Chicago for a few days and it's incredibly diverse. I kept thinking how easily it must be to become a liberal there. Met people from all over the planet while there.
But otherwise, I agree. Outside of the big cities, the midwest is at least as racist, if not more, than the south. And Boston is probably the most racist city in the U.S.

All the snowflakes wanting to move to Boston after Trump got elected. Stating the south is too uneducated and backwards and racist. Well the southern states have higher percentage of minorities. Mass might be one of the whitest states in the union.
They are essentially saying they want to get away from the minorities.

If you don't bother my or my families peace and tranquility and are respectful and polite we will get along, I don't care what color you are, who your mamma is, who you voted for or who you worship.

Racism exists on every side in every state. My opinions on other races are driven by my 32 yrs of life experiences.

We aren't born with racism and hate in our hearts that's something that a kid picks up, usually at home. I was born and raised in a small town in Washington Parish and while I can't say I've never witnessed it from both sides I can say it wasn't commonplace growing up in the 80's and 90's.

this
it really doesn't mean anything. Im more culturally racist. I dislike people who wear flat bills and are trashy. sadly this includes many races.

I was selling crawfish today and after me this Mexican (legal) fisherman pulls up to sell. An old Cajun man who had sold before me says "gonna be a whole lot less crawfish next year when trump kicks all them Mexicans out. And he should"
So I guess you could say he didn't like other types of people
