I posted this elsewhere, but relevant to this thread. 3 week’s isn’t happening. Experts saying 18 months or until a vaccine, whichever is sooner. The second article is more informative, but cited mainstream media as well. Just google 18 months and coronavirus and there are tons of articles about this. This has me very concerned.

Yep and theres jack shite we can do about it and it is pissing me off. The masses are perfectly cool with being locked in their homes by the man while the economy crumbles around them.

And we'll increase testing, increasing confirmed cases, convince everyone ITS STILL GETTING WORSE and bring forth even more oppressive measures that will further accelerate the shite.

frick people piss me off. Chill the frick out, go to work, dont be a dumbass.

Agree. But this is what the federal government is planning for.

Yep, we'll find more cases, the mortality rate will decrease, yet the the media won't portray it that way and the public will eat it up.

90% of the ones downplaying the state and federal closures and restrictions are either already retired and drawing a pension or young and have nothing to lose because they haven’t accumulated anything of value. As I stated above, their opinion doesn’t matter. The other 10% are Facebook obsessed housewives that have gotten themselves worked up from reading one too many “end of the world” updates. frick them too.

That's the problem. The mob thinks that it's dangerous to go around someone until we cure coronavirus.

It's a highly contagious virus and there will never be a cure for it. There will maybe never even be an extremely effective vaccine for it. We all already had it or are going to get it. So let's get it while the getting is good and we still have jobs.

In your thread this morning, you said we only needed ONE week.

Oh no, they cant admit that it really isnt worse than crashing the economy. Thatd be admiting you were wrong and they ain't doing that. We will be confirming more and more cases at a big rate for a long time as testing becomes more widespread. People are too fricking stupid to get it

It’s not the mob, it’s the experts that are focused on saving the highest number of lives.

Your point is a different one. How many lives are we willing to lose to avoid a Great Depression. This convo needs to be had. We make choices every day for economic reasons and or convenience. We could save a whole lot of lives each year too, by banning cars. But we are willing to accept the number of lives we lose each year for the social and economic gains we have by allowing cars.

Same could be said for alcohol.

Hell, we let people get fat and diabetic.

At some point we will have to do a cost benefit here on the lives saved vs lives ruined for 95% or more of the population that survives.

Country folk have plenty of guns and know how to use them.

Plenty of urban folk have guns but couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn or clear a jam,etc....

At this point, it appears that a Great Depression is acceptable if it saves just one life.

I'd be absolutely amazed if it was. As testing becomes more widespread so will confirmed cases. The media will totally ignore that people with symptoms are being sent home, it's likely been here a long time already, etc.

There SHOULD be riots if we get to that point. This is supposed to be a democracy, at some point it should be up to the citizens to weigh the cost/benefit of destroying our entire society vs letting this thing play out.
