5 Signs You Are Being 'Quiet Fired' From Your Job - huffpost
quote:
1. Your boss is MIA for much-needed conversations.
A potential indication of quiet firing is when you get the sense that your boss is avoiding conversations with you, according to Ng.

2. Your boss assigns opportunities you wanted to other team members.
Another sign of quiet firing is when your boss entrusts preferred projects to other team members instead of you, Ng said.
quote:
3. Your boss can’t provide clarity on why your co-workers are getting raises and promotions while you aren’t.
Even if your manager is physically present for career conversations, they may be quiet firing you if the discussions leave you confused about what you need to be more successful.
quote:
4. You are placed on an unreasonable performance improvement plan.
Sometimes, performance improvement plans are genuine opportunities for employees to grow. However, if you are competent and the PIP is only based on subjective feedback, it’s actually just code for “we want you to quit.”

5. Your job expectations or workload changes without any input from you.
Another clue that you’re being quiet fired is when your employer’s expectations change without input from you and without any adjustment in title or pay, said career coach Jasmine Escalera.

The level of narcissism here is laughable.
“How dare you modify the expectations of my duties. Everyone knows that working should be static and no exceptions made (except everyone else being flexible to fit my needs).”
“A PIP? I am a ROCKSTAR at my job and my level of dedication and performance should never be questioned. It’s not me who needs to improve, all my co-workers are the ones who are letting the team down”

Yeah these last two stuck out as very needy/narcissistic
The first 3 may just be a shitty manager

If you're a lazy shitbird that can only do the bare minimum, you can't really complain when the company looks elsewhere.

Well I mean if you are putting forth the minimum effort than why would anyone expect to be given opportunities raises, promotions, or input?

1. Your boss is MIA for much-needed conversations.
Or, you are not part of the decision making team for those conversations; i.e., it's above you pay grade
quote:
2. Your boss assigns opportunities you wanted to other team members.
Just because you want them, you should get the projects/jobs? Any consideration to workload balance, other team members more qualified?
quote:
3. Your boss can’t provide clarity on why your co-workers are getting raises and promotions while you aren’t.
So, every time I give someone a raise/promotion I'm supposed to run it by the team?
quote:
4. You are placed on an unreasonable performance improvement plan.
The reason people are on PIPs is typically because they aren't meeting management's expectations. The point of the PIPs is to get the employee to start stepping up before moving on. And, aren't all performance measures essentially subjective?

5. Your job expectations or workload changes without any input from you.
Welcome to life outside of entry level work. You want a raise/promotion, you need to show you deserve it first

Yeah if you quiet quit on me I'm going to publicly fire your arse. Sorry but I demand a little better than an indifferent attitude to my company

It's hilarious how things get branded.
This is called checking out of your job. Some people are perpetually checked out. I like to call those people realists.
Do your work required, if your employer has a problem with it, make them fire you. If your employee is shite, give them shite and wait for them to leave.
Ultimately, what you do to make money, unless it is your absolute life's passion or you're literally saving lives (surgeon, doctor), it should just not take up real estate in your brain when you aren't working. If it is, that's an issue, IMO.
There's a reason that when we are faced with a real threat such as a tornado, hurricane, or earthquake the thought of your job shifts to the back of your mind.
None of it's real.
