I’m pretty sure that they’re not sending COVID infected patients into nursing homes anymore like NY, so I think we’ll be ok

Pretty sure more of NY at least had enough walking about sense and common decency to wear masks to protect their neighbors though.

Not to mention the fact that NY had, by far, the lowest percentage of total deaths from nursing homes of any state in the country.

I definitely expect there to be a “cure”/other talking point the first Wednesday of November.

New York and New Jersey both have over 6,000 deaths in nursing homes according to the New York Times which is extremely higher than other states. New York has a little more than a hundred more nursing homes compared to Louisiana but the total number of deaths in New York is extremely higher than Louisiana.

New Cases are rising again but hospitalizations and really ill patients are down. The only 2 patients Ive admitted recently were from the nursing homes. I not as smart as the Gov of New York so I admit Covids from the nursing homesso it doesn't spread

I said percentage since I responded to a post implying NY's high death count was due to nursing homes which is just plain false.

NY has around 25K total confirmed deaths and only around 20% of deaths from nursing homes.

Louisiana, like most of the US, has had around 40% of its deaths in nursing homes.

The point being, again, that all the nursing home deaths in NY are certainly bad as they are everywhere they do not account for the high death rate since the NY percentage is much lower than every other state in the USA.

I think he’s trying to defend NY by virtue of nursing home deaths being a low percentage of total covid deaths.

Which is stupid since they had far more of both than anyone.

I know a respiratory therapist in NO. When it was bad there the only people dying were very elderly, most that were already barely alive and those with some other pre existing/comprised condition ( overweight and hypertension and heavy illicit drug use).

He did also say that not a single one they put on the ventilator lived.

is the lack of a spike in new deaths a result of the new cases being mostly younger people?
More younger people getting tested.

I know this is shocking to hear, but most people who get covid don’t die from it. They recover.

By and large, the only ones dying from this are the very old and the people with serious co-morbitities. If they aren't getting it, there won't be deaths. By now, I sure as hell hope everyone realizes this and protects these people (which I think is happening mostly).

Will the experts still be saying this in 2022?
