Please don't ridicule me..

What's the difference between a Pipe Fitter and Boilermaker?

What about Boilermaker "A" and Boilermaker "B"?

All I know about the O&G baws is that when they are on the rigs, I'm pipe fitting their old ladies.

A boiler consists of hundreds of pipes on the inside called water/steam tubes so in order to be a boilermaker must be a pipe fitter also.

Pipe fitters typically are real estate agents or pharma reps.

Boil makers are bartenders.

Change thread title. This sounds like plant work.

Pipe fitters are more math oriented. Have to figure bends for angles etc.Lots of charts.

Boilermakers are largely mechanics/parts changers in my experience. Place/replace blinds, replace trays, jack with finfans, pull heat exchangers apart...

I know a ton of boilermakers, only a handful of pipefitters.

S Kevin has it right.
And some companies use A, B, and C or a 1,2,3 after the title to note experience/pay

Who are you looking to work for?
Pipefitters are generally making much more, especially if you get in with the specialty welding companies

You have to go to a technical school and become certified to be a pipe fitter. You can become a boilermaker if you can pass the company test. A and B are pay rate indicators.
A being the highest.
