After being married for 40 years, it’s not an everyday thing anymore.

The dudes won’t speak up here, but some wives just shut it down after kids. Then the bubba is left with the choice of divorce, cheating, or a total lack of the P. If he divorces her he blows up his family. If he cheats, he breaks his vows. A good number of them just endure.

Dude is spot on. Marriage is awesome. Once you got a set of kids over a certain age it’s like World Cockblock force has taken a vested interest in your balls staying blue. The desert of no poon because you got no privacy.

Can’t remember exactly, but it was when I had my open heart surgeries in late 2016. I was really sick the last couple of months before they put me in the hospital in early November. I came home in early December (31 days in the hospital to be exact) but was extremely weak and still in pretty bad shape. My recovery was rough. It wasn’t until March I’d got enough strength back to be my old self again. So, for us it was about 5-6 months.

she's breaking the vows by not fricking
not really - vows usually mention faithfulness but nothing about the frequency of sex

Maybe the lack of sex is one of the ‘bad times’ mentioned in the vows that the couple should work through

not necessarily- some women just have zero sex drive - sometimes it’s hormone related, sometimes it’s mental pressure put upon herself because, as mentioned by a previous poster who called it ‘road kill’, women’s bodies take a beating after child birth, sometimes it’s medicines that are taken (including birth control). Men have a more spontaneous desire for sex, where as many women have a responsive desire (not all, many)

As for my husband and I - the longest it’s been is 3 weeks - he was out of the country working for that long. We didn’t wait that long after the kids were born

Oh ffs, stfu. You're a woman giving some blowhard babble justifying ignorant actions by some selfish bitch.

Who gives a crap if someone feels like it or not. Please your spouse in some way, or know they will get pleasure somewhere else.

If some sort of desire isn't there, you get it done regardless.
Were you ever excited to cut the grass, or mop, or pay bills? No! But you got it done regardless of the chore lacking pleasure.

Say what you want or believe. But if your husband didn't touch you for years, you wouldn't stay, or you wouldn't stay faithful

My wife understands that I'm having relations every week.

It is her choice whether that secks will be with her or not.

Other than a trip when I was away for parental medical issues for weeks, the longest we've gone is seriously about a week and a half over our 30 + years.
BUT, don't get jealous, nowadays it's all I can do to convince her to do it once a week.
