Lucky you. I was a giant pile of shite during that time to my gf. She rightfully left my arse. Was pretty big driving force to stop drinking as much.
It cost me a couple of relationships, both my fault.

Weed dont satisfy a drunk.

Ole fat boy pretending he knows shite. Nothing new under the sun. Good to see you Forrest. You haven't followed me around like a puppy in a while.
Weed is nothing like alcohol. If you want a crossover, it's opiates. Alcohol and opiates work similarly.
Yeah, it’s pretty clear who in this thread has had an actual alcohol addiction and who thinks it makes them seem cool or tough to call themselves an alcoholic because they catch a buzz a few nights a week. If you’ve ever gone through true withdrawal you know that weed doesn’t do shite to stop it.

Don’t you dare argue with Sir Roger.

But hey, I guess I didn’t have a “real” drinking problem.

Not one person said that

Are you sure you were addicted to beer and not a hard drug like marijuana?
If alcohol was addictive they wouldn’t sell it in stores

It helps deal with the withdrawal.
It's does a bit. Mainly the nausea.
They'll drug you up pretty good in rehab to help you get through it. Anti anxiety drugs usually.

Look we all like to give rog shite, but he is definitely an expert around here on being an physically and mentally addicted to alcohol.

Lots of people do, it has a totally different buzz though. It just doesn't replace alcohol for an alcoholic.
Now Coke and booze go great together. A little bump before the afterparty and you're brand new.

Just the opposite for me. My only problem is coming down which is how I got in trouble.
D give almost anything to have a few brews at a beach bonfire and maybe a half pint of bourbon, but I worked too damn hard to get sober to go back.

Detox was actually a pretty good time. I just popped pills, ate ice cream, and napped. I would have extended if I could.

Congrats?
But for him to claim weed doesn’t help with alcohol withdrawals is false and careless.

When I drank heavily, I did get nauseated and the shakes in the evenings around the time I would normally start drinking. Around that time period (lasted about three years) I was drinking three handles of Wild Turkey 101 a week. I even bought it by the case so I could get a 10% discount.
I got sick with a horrible cold/sinus infection for about a week and felt like shite and didn't feel like drinking. After I got better, I just didn't start up again.
I occasionally drink (5-6 times a year), but I have issues going to sleep when I do and I get real anxious and irritable the next day.

You misspelled adderall.
Again, you’re clueless.

Yeah, I had a hard time for about two or three weeks after I quit. I have jittery hands to begin with, but throwing in the alkie hands made it much worse. For nausea I basically was puking or just felt horrible for the first few days, then after every time I ate I felt like i was going to puke. My body was used to booze nearly every day and punished me.
Stick with it though - I'm 13 months sober now and feel great. That shite will pass, if it gets too bad you might want to look at a detox center so they can monitor your health. I wound up spending a week in detox for it so they could monitor my health like heart rate, replenish enzymes, etc. Helped a ton. Paid out of pocket for it so that there was no paper trail on me.
