Question about Tickets: Careless Operation

A month ago, I had a braking failure and hit the back of a military convoy vehicle.
My car was totaled and I have a ticket priced at $350
Fortunately I have insurance and I walked away with no injuries. No soldiers were harmed and the convoy didn't get a scratch.
I'm currently trying to speak with some people about lowering the ticket cost.
Does anyone know how I can possibly plea for a lesser violation. I understand that I'm at fault, I just want a lower fine.

They give zero fricks about the violation or public safety. Tell them you will be happy to pay the fine but ask they make it a non moving violation. You will save way more on insurance over the long term.

I was on highway 117. Some little town outside the Vernon Parish area. It wasn't Leesville. I have to go back and check the report.

I'm black. Plus I dont think privilege exists, it's just classism and based on our culture, more whites tend to have more wealth.

If you haven't used it yet, would be a good time to use your PTI. Basically keep it off your record and do the online course for ~$120 bucks
