Being a pastor is the GOAT job ... get paid to give a speech once a week. We’re all idiots!

Care to go into some detail on this? Honestly curious.

It's quite clear he's indicating they aren't going to heaven b/c he's likely Catholic and being righteous and judgey as frick.

All of those listed are biblical...except for the last one unless you meant “sacred tradition” when you wrote “doctrine.”

Curious: what was the inspired revelation to the faithful for the nearly 400 years after the death of Christ before the Bible was even assembled as a single document, the more than 1400 years before the printing press allowed for wide dissemination of the Bible, and the nearly 1600 years until the King James version. As late as 1960, more than half of the world was still illiterate. Seems strange that the written word would be the sole authority for the faith.

Sincerely mean no disrespect. God bless.

When I'm stuck at mass(funeral or wedding these days) I look around and try and guess which women are naughty, etc.

Thought I was the only one who did that. I'm also on the lookout for the ones standing under the ac, they usually have the nipples with a hard on

Anything I can do to make the time go faster. God don't communicate with me only when I'm in his little buildings of worship

We go to church about twice per year and it's typically with my mom. Something about sitting next to your wife, daughter and 70 year old mother momentarily heals most of my inner perv.

Yes it is - we don’t deny it. The word ‘cult’ does not have to have a sinister connotation.

Question - if there is not a place besides heaven and hell - where did all the prophets go before Jesus died? Jesus was sent to open the gates of Heaven. I don’t think Noah, Daniel, and Jacob burned until He died.

The only megachurch allowed in BR is the Catholic Church. Every other church will be made fun of even though Catholics do some culty things too.

The Catholic church is the epitome of cult like.

They pray to Mary.
They pray to the dead.
They pray for the dead.
They think priests actually have the power to absolve sins.
They believe in a place besides heaven and hell.
They believe the Catholic doctrine is equal to the bible.

None of these things are biblical even one time.

We also don't take the bible literal which allows us to recognize that maybe God can exist and that the universe can be 13 billion years old at the same time.

I love when I’m reading through a thread, read a post that I made 2 years ago and think ‘this guy gets it’ only to find out it’s my post. I did that here. In fact, I almost replied to myself.

I’m now living in Houston and have found a church similar to HPC in Katy, although it’s smaller. They took time out to meet me after I filled out the ‘welcome card’ and I had coffee with the pastor in our to tell each other our stories. These people have invited me into their homes for Bible studies and yet, have not asked for money outside of the service offering in the beginning.
