My main issue with AE is that some lasts work for me while some don’t at all. I have figured out that the Acheson and Lake Forest work best for me, unfortunately Park Aves don’t at all.

Yep

This is the only thing to worry about for new customers buying on sale. AE puts out a bunch of designs every year on various lasts and some of them end up sucking. Not bad workmanship, just sizing is tricky, comfort issues, etc. A lot of those end up in the big sales.

OP would do better looking for the tried and true AE models, which still do go on sale. And seconds are always fine in my experience.

Those look very nice. Do the dress shoes fit true to size?

Good shoe, been around for years. Can't guarantee it's good for you, but it's not one I'm talking about that gets discontinued and put on deep discount after a year or two.

I've got the Carlyle and 5th Avenue on sale for ~250 if I remember right.

Took advantage of the Black Friday sale. Got the Badlands black. Fits very nicely, comfortable, leather is real nice.

Also ordered the Oak Street. I sent it back Saturday. ordered the same size in both shoes BUT the Oak Street was falling off of my feet no matter what I did. White athletic socks, inserts, you name it, I practically needed to tie my foot to the shoe to keep it in. Sent it back and ordered another color of the Badlands.

Wish I could wear the Park/Fifth avenues but they are cut/made different and are too narrow in the wrong spots for my feet.

One thing that I've noticed AE does is treat people who wear orthotics like second class citizens. Annual sales of Orthotics are over $4 billion and AE is cheating itself out of that market by offering a limited selection of lower quality shoes that have removable inserts. I bought crap Johnston & Murphy shoes because they offered a selection of shoes that could handle orthotics.

AE still has the sale going on, btw.
