Mercury had the GOAT male vocal range. There's no one close.

I saw Weezer there in 2014. I don't quite know how anything could ever top that.

I mean, I love Weezer, but give me Queen 39 years ago there.

More due to how artists tour now because of local travel habits than BR itself.

I always thought it was weird growing up in the late 70s/80s how BR and Biloxi got all the good bands/concerts and most acts would skip NOLA entirely.. It was explained to me back then that New Orleans didnt have any good venues for music; obviously the Dome has terrible acoustics, but there were other places like the Municipal Auditorium , the Saenger and, going way back, the Warehouse.. then in ‘83 the Lakefront Arena opened up and seemed to draw a few more big names, but New Orleans, this Mecca of live music, still seemed to be passed over on most well-known bands’ concert tours.. just odd i always thought.

Also saw Chicago, Lionel Richey, and Foreigner during a private event in BR

Mercury's not even close to the largest male vocal range. The quality of his voice and his control of it, though, destroys some of the guys with larger ranges.

Freddy had a 4 octave range.

Mike Patton (Faith No More) - 6+ octaves
Diamond Dave - 5+ octaves
Axl Rose - 5+ octaves

The guys with the staggering ranges aren't always the ones you think of.

For instance, Chris Cornell only had about 3.5 octaves, but the part of the register he'd sing in would have you convinced he had a much larger range.

I bet that was one hell of a show.
Was an infant at the time. Would have loved to see them in their prime. Saw em with Paul Rogers at the helm and was great, skipped em with Lambert (though he is okay).. but seeing the actual real band together with FM fronting must’ve been magic in person
