7 week old Great Pyranees puppy. I've been keeping him in the mud room when I go to bed at night. Immediately after I put him in the room and shut the door, he starts howling. Usually he'll stop but then he starts back again around 4 or 5 AM. Last night, I put him in the bedroom with me, but he pooped on the floor 3 times and peed twice.

He's usually pretty good about going to the paper when he's in the living room, but he thinks any rug is a piece of paper to be peed on. I have hardwood floors, so when he goes into the bedroom, I don't think he knows the difference between rug and carpet.

Also, he chews on the coaxial cable leading up to my bedroom TV.

Let him roam the house having a designated poop area outside

Puppy pads are a hindrance. Crate train him and take him outside immediately after taking him out of the crate.

You let him cry until eventually he stops. The more accommodating and positive you make that room the easier it gets

As for peeing/pooping, you should be waking up every 2-3 hours to take him outside + reward. If you do that right, you'll never have an accident in the house

I'd recommend crate training with regular ~2-3hr potty breaks throughout the night/day. Never took >2-3weeks for my dogs to be perfectly potty trained

our puppy sucked at crate training

Once we had our baby, he immediately stopped and scratches at the door to go out now

pretty crazy how he just decided to do that once the baby came home

we've got a 3 month old golden doodle. defintely stick it in a crate (make sure it's not too big). close the door and let it howl. after about 3-5 nights it will be sleeping through the night.

You're letting a 7 week old puppy wander around at night?

He's too young to go outside. He hasn't been fully vaccinated nor has he started taking flee medication.

He's teething, he'll do that until he gets his adult teeth, just go down to a pet store and buy him some toys to play around with.

You will benefit greatly if you put some time in now and take the dog out to relieve himself regularly. Crating helps because they're not going to relieve themselves in their own space, so he'll let you know when he needs to go.

for 2 minutes to piss and shite?!?

You're not supposed to take the to dog parks till they are vaccinated. They can go outside...

It's a dog ffs.

Yep, we crate trained our lab. When she was a puppy we took her out every 3-4 hours at night and would give praise/reward when she went. Once she hit 1 we stopped crating her when we leave and she has never had an accident.
