It's only $29 for the shuttle ride.

Upkeep on boats and equipment is not cheap. A portion of it will also go back to the museum.

Yeah, have to think cost of operation and insurance makes this a short lived venture.

Don't think they realized all the limitations when it was on paper.

Would love to go for a ride, but I don't ever see myself doing it.

I don't think they expect the thing to run 24/7.

What does the boat hold, about 6 people?

Will it at least fire a torpedo into a levee for that price?

The shuttle ride is just to get to the boat...just in case that wasn't mean to be a joke.

It's over $100 to rent a damn jet ski on the lake for an hour.

It cost them an assload of cash to procure and restore that boat....this is a fundraiser to try to get a little cash back to offset some of that. The museum has sent out periodic updates on this whole project as it was happening.

Here's an idea. If you are too much of a cheap arse wanker to want to do it... then don't buy a damn ticket. I, for one, will be going sometime this summer. When will you ever get the chance to ride in a period correct WWII boat?

BTW, I think it's tax deductible and if it is my company will be buying all my people a ticket as well. I love the museum and look forward to supporting it.

When the CAF aircraft are in town, it's like $350 a ride too. I understand that you're flying over the city versus riding on the lake, but the price isn't ridiculous. It's not like you're going to get a less expensive ride on a different PT Boat. PT 305 is the only one left.
