They had my wife do that. I told her she was like a cat, shitting in a box.

Honestly, my stuff is so rank I'd gag my self having to do that.

Research the doctor before you select one. There is a jackass on the Northshore to be avoided. A quick web search will show the identity and outline concerns...

As for the taste, I don’t get the dread, anybody who has ever juiced has had far worse. I’d take this ( just drank it 45 minutes ago) over celery or beet juice any day. No big deal.

My primary told me that you don’t even need a referral to have a colonoscopy…just call up and make an appointment.

Many insurances still require a referral to see a specialist for anything.

Sorry for your loss, but come on. We need to start being honest with people. Your mom was most likely obese and caused her to have a shorter life. The overweight leads to more health problems and being even less active. We really need to fix our diets in this country.

If you have a family history of a Colon cancer are earlier procedures recommended? Bout to be 31 FWIW

I watched my grandma suffer for years, thought she beat it, and then eventually die. She was in constant, unlivable pain until she went to Glory.

Dude, its no where as bad as you think. This was my 5th colonoscopy and I promise you, the procedure is a breeze to go through.

The only downside is the prep/drink the night before. Mix it with some PowerAde to help with the taste. Just make sure its not red or purple.

BTW, get some baby wipes because you are gonna hit the porcelain throne about 6-8 times from drinking the prep the night before.

We are reading more and more about 'healthy' young people in their 30s and even in their 20s getting colon cancer. CC is supposed to be a disease that primarily affects people over 50.

Yes, being overweight, along with sedentary lifestyles, probably is contributing to CC but I am starting to believe what is termed the SAD diet, aka the Standard American Diet, is causing most CC cases.

Walk into a grocery store and what is the first thing you see?
There are stacks and stacks of soda/colas, sugar water, candy, cookies, cakes, pies, potato chips, corn chips and all sorts of other garbage being passed on as 'food'.

All this crap is loaded down with sugar, salts, food coloring, preservatives, chemicals, gluten, hydrogenated oils, modified corn, soy, wheat, HFCS...

I know I am preaching to the choir here but our tax $$ are subsidizing a lot of this junk.

Yes, obesity is causing major health issues such as diabetes, heart and coronary diseases.

Right now, I am only referring to CC and the crappy junk being eaten every day, IMO, is a major contributing factor to CC.

BTW, I am not a medical professional, dietician, nor a nutritionist.

Best thing we can do is eat healthy diets, teach our children the same and try to show others and even pressure our elected officials to make changes.

Thanks for the reminder. I was scheduled but backed out when I read all that I had to do. I just keep thinking there has to be a better way to get this done.

I'm 62 and just got the call that it's time for another one. Will by fourth. Had a really bad case of diverticulitis 6 years ago and ended up having over a foot of my colon removed.

What do you mean? The list is simple. Drink some stuff, don't eat solids the day before and shite your guts up.

That's it.

Yes, simple but sounds terrible. Hence everybody complaining about the prep and being in such a vulnerable state that I must have someone take me there. That’s what made me hold off. But after reading all these comments last night, I called this morning and got it scheduled.

Dulcolax and Miralax are what I was told to use for prep.
