"they" is not just the retarded bunch of retirees with too mcuh time on their hands like shown in these videos. "They" is a legal entity with legally binding governing documents filed in court that gives the Assocaition the authoity to fine you, put a lien on your house, or file suit against you to take you to court to compel action against you.

It's funny that so many people think an HOA is just a bunch of old folks sending out meaningless letters that don't actually mean anything. An HOA serves a very real and very valid purpose, but as is the case with MANY things, they are typically only as useful as the actual human being people that are in charge of htem.

yes, i know that technically they can fine you and put a lien on your house, etc etc etc. i know how an HOA works. however, i've never heard of a single case of that happening for the trivial issues that make of 99% of the issues that people talk about like grass being too long or someone leaving their trashcan in the wrong place.

i'm sure you'll come back with a story about your neighbor Jim who got thrown in debtors prison for not paying the $50 fine he was charged for parking his truck on the street. i'm sure it has happened. however in my experience of living for many years in HOA ran neighborhoods it's never happened to anyone i know or have even heard of.

the overhwlming majority of the time they send out harshly worded letters of few times and then drop it.

I'm frankly shocked so few people recognized they are AI.

The ones in this thread are from an AI account satirizing actual HOAs. I've heard some nightmare stories about HOAs so I'm thankful ours is good.
