Mentioned this in another thread, we really are not here if our overlords deem it something they dont like, such as gambling and alcohol.

i see this posted by our Louisiana neighbors often. The recent governor’s race did not help your case. Abbott (R) won 2018 & 2022 with 55% of the vote.

so, really really slowly?

also. most adults in Texas have been aware of this law for a long long time and have adjusted their alcohol purchasing habits…..like buying liquor the other 6 days of the week. OMG!

It's against the law to sell liquor and cars on Sunday in Texas.

I think Abbott only beating a far, far left nut like Beta by only 10pts in a state like Texas just goes to show that it's changing politically.

Most of the geographic area is still old school conservative but the population explosions in DFW, Houston, Austin are slowly eroding the rural vote. Look at the shift in those cities over the last 15 years.

Texas isn't going to be blue tomorrow but it's trending in that direction, whether it's slowly or really slowly.

I think North Carolina, Georgia and Montana will be blue states before Texas.

i wouldn’t disagree with that assessment. Lina Hidalgo getting voted back in again, is a prime example. Harris County is lost.

I’m just not sure why 08 and other Louisiana residents are actively routing for Texas to turn blue.

???? Texas is a pretty big state… 10 points might as well be a blowout

Ex Pat from Louisiana here. Texas has some shitty alcohol laws.

But over here, Greg Abbott is Governor and there's no state income tax, good roads and good public schools in the burbs.

My home state unfortunately has John Bel Edwards serving a second term, and with the exception of a few school district zonings, private schooling is the more desirable option.

Banning alcohol sales is some conservative Baptist religious bs. This is some "Red state" ideology.
