I used to work at one of their correspondent banks (basically banks that keep accounts at other banks so they can transfer funds between one another without going through the Fed). I was shocked at how lax their accounting practices were. We balanced to the penny ever day. Chase's Louisiana region would be out of balance several million and it was NBD to them.

I worked at Capital One for a while. A big chunk of their business is catering to "subprime" people and assraping them with enough fees to make a profit on the ones who pay over and above the ones who will default.

That's weird.

I just refinanced a loan with them to lower my rate and they paid so much toward closing costs I got about $800 back.

Three years ago, another local bank wanted to refinance my office building loan and they just dropped my rate to match what I was offered with no closing costs.

I guess it helps to be Chase Private Client.

Deposit the check in your account at your bank. Problem solved.

Switched to Chase a few weeks ago from Regions they were offering a $500 promotion thing to open an account. $500, they have locations outside of the South, and I was never really impressed with Regions customer service, easy move.

I brought over $600 worth of coins to chase. They sent them off to be counted. No charge.
