I agree with this sentiment. Almost got KO’d by one in the rain recently.

Also, just saw on Twitter that a child has died in the accident. Horrible

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police say a 13-year-old has died following a 15-vehicle crash on US 190 on the old Mississippi River Bridge Tuesday morning.
The crash happened shortly before 8:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Trooper First Class Taylor Scrantz tells WAFB’s Austin Kemker the vehicle the teen was in was hit by a semi-truck.
Multiple cars were also hit by several semi-trucks, Scrantz says.
The crash scene stretches for about a quarter of a mile on the bridge.

Was there fog this morning?

I know it's a narrow road, but it's also straight as an arrow right there on the bridge.

Honestly this is a pandemic in Louisiana. Not enough room to stop if there's a problem ahead.

It's made worse by Louisiana's highway infrastructure. The US 190 bridge is a good example. There's no shoulders, and the lanes are narrower than the highway approach on both sides.

No, clear as could be. Someone hit their fricking brakes and all the rest is history. I see it so often it doesn’t even phase me anymore.
Wouldn’t shock me to find out a cell phone was being studied. The amount of distracted drivers due to phones is frightening if you just observe other drivers.

A couple guys I work with saw the wreck earlier this morning. They said it looked similar to Fort Worth.

There are ample distractions for 18 wheeler drivers - and not every operator has adequate safety protocols like the larger players.

There's also the weight factor - some a-hole in a Civic is going to cause a lot less damage than a distracted big rig driver under the same circumstances.
