the Beatles weren't some "boy band" as a lot on here say

They kind of were their time's version of a boy band to start out, and once they got rich and famous and started doing drugs, instead of falling apart and fading away, they actually got better.

What does that even mean?

Are you saying they each (outside of John) have a song that is better than every single Beatles song in existence?

Judge not lest ye be judged or something like that. Beatles made some good music, but the Grateful Dead is was still better.

their time's version

maybe, but that's a bit of a stretch, "boy bands," and the same applies to the girls from the Disney stable, were pre-fab, pre-hyped, and introduced as some sort of established acts, not real musical groups by any stretch, certainly not talented musicians or songwriters, they were sort of just all of a sudden "out there," that none are surviving the test of time kind of shows the "artistic" impact they've left

Huh? Where is this chart that has all of these songs ranked and who made it?

I'd put Watching the Wheels, Woman, Jealous Guy, and a few others up against any solo work from the rest.

Paul recorded Say, Say, Say and Ebony and Ivory. Probably the lamest/weakest songs ever recorded by any of them.

And what's Ringo's great song?

Boy bands don't play instruments, rarely, if ever, write their own songs, and do choreographed dance moves onstage. The Beatles weren't a fricking boy band. People sound really idiotic when they say things like this.

Today's version of a boy band, you are correct. For their time period coming up in late 50's early 60's, they weren't very far from their time's version of a boy band- all matching outfits, catchy pop tunes with plenty of sock-hop cover songs in the mix, 95% of their fans were squealing teenage girls, etc. That's how they started, before breaking the mold.

They were like a boy band in the period of 1962-1965 in the way the Epstein molded their image and, yes, sound to appeal to girls in the same way Lou Pearlman did with Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC.

If wasn’t until Revolver in 1966 when they decided to become studio rats that they REALLY became the Beatles that musicologists love so much.

He was a hypocrite

And a poor father.

I don’t hate him, but I’ve never understood his appeal, aside from the anti-war and pro-peace stuff
