JL and PM had an agreement through their first three albums that they'd give equal credit to the other even if the other had NOTHING to do with the writing of the song. If you penned a song all by yourself why would you agree to share equal credit?
This is another reason I think they found an old book of thoughtful poetry.

Never cared much for the Beatles though I recognize they were good at what they did, I was just never a fan of them. They say you either like the Beatles or Elvis. I prefer Elvis. Yes, Lennon was garbage. He didn't give a shite about the things he espoused. He was no Hindu and no Buddhist. His wife was a fricking nutcase too.
