this would be like you having $60k in credit card debt and finding $100 bill in your sofa cushion. Are you going to put that $100 towards paying down your credit card balance? Or are you going to spend it on booze and scratch offs?

The difference is, I'm not the cause of the debt the way I'd be in your credit card scenario. When I die, the country is still going to be in debt. I'd rather take the $5K and use it myself.

Not sure why anyone takes this check thing seriously.

Hell Elon has already walked back the projected doge savings to closer to 500B now.

Whatever savings they do find should be trying to get to a balanced budget then handing out money to people who won't even pay their credit cards either

I’m still not sure why Elon has been given so much power. Vance seems like the third wheel here.

Elon has convinced the entire administration for like 100 million dollars he can run everything through his AI model and root out all the waste.

I think he is running into the giant size of government and all the unconnected systems and disjointed processes is going to make this impossible. At this point he just shite posts, but the savings stuff seems to be slowly fading away. It will take real forensic accounting over a lot of time to find real fraud

Even if they laid off every govt worker in the federal govt they still won't hit 300B.

However everyone hates them so it's a good distraction.

Might give them enough time to get actual people in there to do some real book keeping and find something big.

However got to imagine the majority of the tax dollars are all tied up in contracts with private companies which will take a lot of time to break. Plus they have a lot of lawyers

what is confusing about my previous post?

let me see if I can clarify:

Considering President Joseph R. Biden Jr.‘s tenure from January 20, 2021, to January 20, 2025, and acknowledging the unprecedented challenges and pivotal policy decisions that characterized this administration (LOL),
…..to what extent did Vice President Kamala D. Harris, …..as the first female, first Black, …..and first South Asian individual….and first DEI Vice President…. to hold the role as Vice President, exert her powerful influence and assume a central role in shaping and directing the executive branch’s domestic and foreign policies, legislative initiatives, and administrative actions throughout this four-year period?

eta: 7 downvotes; found the 7 sad Kamala voters

Me giving the federal gov't $25k last year in taxes and $10k in social security is retarded.

If they want to give me money back that they steal from me every year, i'll never object to it.

Workers getting paid for government jobs and therefore pumping that money back through their local economies may be "wasteful" from a business sense but it's the last thing which needs to be addressed.

Sweetheart deals to private corporations is where one should look.

But wont.

Vance, without any doubt. He’s also my automatic lock for 2028. Dude is crushing it, you just aren’t paying attention.

Absolutely this. Beyond just the massive inflation it would cause it’s fiscally irresponsible to do. And shows worrying about the national debt isn’t their real concern

I agree with you on this, but, maybe Trump and Musk know something we don’t know as for paying down the debt. I am sure Trump has some idea about the money that will be saved and a plan to pay off the debt in a timely fashion. More people will start to pay attention to the waste and fraud found and will want the discovery to be continued with more support.

Not a stimulus, it’s a rebate. Most stimulus checks are paid for by an increase in money supply (which is why they are a disaster for inflation).

They took all of this from us already and then decided to cut this from the budget.

It’s our existing money. It’s not massive quantitive easing.
