Texas would be pretty much all one color except deep east Texas piney Woods. That’s Deep South. Texans don’t identify with the rest of the south they identify as Texas. Independence is part of Texas culture.

The South LA blue area should probably extend to Mobile, maybe all the way to Pensacola.

I don’t think Houston has much in common with southern Arkansas, Northern Mississippi and Eastern Tennessee.

I agree, it seems as if a lot of folks are challenged with map interpretation. The "states" are contiguous blocks of color...only a limited palate of colors.

Agree. Texas is pretty much one color. That red color.

Somehow every attempt to do this fails miserably.
First of all, the US is in a constant state of flux.
Second of all, people are basically the same everywhere.
There's nothing wrong with having multiple surface cultures existing within the same political boundary so long as there is not some fundamental conflict between them.

frick the concept of states. In the US, everyone should live under a unified code of law.

Because Middle Tennessee and Middle Illinois are so much alike.

All the purples are not one state. They’re all their own state.

Screw that. I think the states should have more power and the federal government less.

Das Vadanya, comrade. The blood of capitalist pigs should water our furrows and fertilize our potatoes.
Facepalm.
(If you oppose the foundational basis of the US, ie a federal republic of united states, there is an answer for you: Get the frick out of it.)

Shiiit, they need to break Arkansas up into about 5. Washington and Benton counties are not even really Arkansas. I kinda despise NWA to be honest.

One state goes from Canada to friggin Texas? That map sucks
Texas is pretty big, Hoss.
Example -
El Paso is closer to Los Angeles than Beaumont.
Austin is closer to New Orleans than El Paso.
Corpus Christi is closer to Cuba than Denver.
Brewster County, TX is larger than the states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Delaware. It's over ten times the size of Washington DC.
Texarkana is closer to Michigan than the northernmost point in Texas is to the southernmost point in Texas.
