I vote no on 99% of all taxes, including renewals.
Recent tax in Calcasieu Parish passed with 13% of voters actually voting!

Usually these taxes go on ballots that will have a low turnout - except for the people pushing for the tax. School board does this all the time it seems.

Well, in LP it’s a renewal to fund maintenance for one of the best school systems in the state…so I voted yes because I care about kids….even if they aren’t my own.

Hopefully this low functioning retard is an EBR resident…

They do pay the tax by being passed on but if you have 10 properties, so in theory you could have 10-20 people voting against your own personal beliefs about a certain tax that I would have to pay on my homestead.

EBR is closing a multitude of schools and is serving at least 10,000 fewer students than when these taxes were passed. Why do they need the same amount of money. That’s why I’m voting NO.

As for the DA, tough luck. NO on that too. Property taxes already increased $400/year for 2024. This would be another $$400 for 2025.

What???… voting against your own personal belief???… as a citizen or property owner???… and why would your “personal beliefs” affect how someone else votes

Teachers already underpaid to deal with your useless kids

A no vote is also a no vote for St. George school district funding because they will rely on that money too once district starts up
So please vote no

People that own their home free and clear, still have to pay for it in the form of “property” tax. Not a tax on what they paid for it. Not even a tax for what it’s worth. The government wants more money so they make up an inflated value on your house that you own free and clear, they charge you every year to live in the house you own.

Tax = theft.

I get the property taxes thing but it irks me every year the city has a shortfall its like hey joe taxpayer looks like your house is now worth more. You owe more on your property taxes this year. Been feed this same BS for 12 straight years. Not saying property taxes arent helpful to the community but giving the city a blank check (property taxes) is not the answer.

The currrent budget is 16 million. The new tax is said to bring in 24 million. Does Hillar Moore need $40 million per year? He gets a shite ton of money from Pre trial diversion money. Voted no.

That’s not what’s going to happen. The DA will be exclusively funded by the property tax.

The funds he previously received will go to other stuff, and for me that’s not good.

voting against your own personal belief
You missed the point, if I disagree with a property tax and plan to
vote it down, I could or anyone could have 10-20-50 renters who vote for the tax and because of the way they voted I’m subjected to the taxes in my property that they voted for
